Testate vs. Review

About three weeks my Sony A900 + SAL-1635Z (16-35 f/2.8 Zeiss lens) took a spill from 5ft on my tripod to a concrete surface. That was the longest 0.8 seconds of my life. The Sony A900 is a VERY strong metal build and the hood literally saved my $1800 lens. The ring on the mount to the lens is plastic, but the hood is metal. The ring break slightly away from the hood, taking the brute force of hard concrete while the top of the Sony A900 has a minor crunch on the top. The lens was spared ANY damage. I mean not a SCRATCH on her. So, I am giving my 100% buy this dang hood and keep it on at all times while shooting. The build is amazing and literally saved my entire setup by taking this brunt. I was able to even fix the mount with some super glue and still using it!! In Zeiss I trust.
