The EVH 5150III offers three distinct channels to accommodate any playing style, from crystal-clear cleans to raw crunch and sizzling leads. Channel one is dedicated to delivering pristine clean tones, while channel two introduces overdrive and heavy gain, reminiscent of the EVH 5150III 100S. Channel three, on the other hand, is all about liquid distortion for those seeking a more aggressive sound.
Channels one and two feature dual concentric gain/volume controls and share an EQ for low, mid, and high frequencies. Channel three comes with its own gain, volume, and EQ controls. All channels are equipped with global presence, resonance, and reverb controls for maximum tonal flexibility.
The EVH 5150III is equipped with a 12" custom special designed EVH Celestion speaker, seven JJ ECC83 (12AX7) preamp tubes, and two JJ 6L6 power tubes. It also features a front-panel adjustable power output, allowing you to scale down from 50 watts to just one watt.
Additional features include a single input, selectable output impedance (4, 8, or 16 ohms) with parallel speaker outputs, MIDI input and preamp output, effects loop, and a headphone jack that mutes the power amp. A four-button footswitch is included for easy onstage switching between all three channels and reverb.
The cabinet, constructed from durable birch with special internal baffling, ensures tight and enhanced bass response. The amplifier is wrapped in stylish Ivory vinyl, adorned with vintage-style chicken-knobs, a red LED jewel indicator, a molded black plastic top handle, and pop-out casters for easy mobility.
