I photograph weddings and portraits and had no problem with the card keeping up with my Canon D-5 shooting raw and high jpg. If I were photographing sports I would want a faster card.

This card is a great value, especially with the Spring Rebates. Problem-free, the cards came in very handy after a long morning shoot and served us well.

As an avid amateur/light professional photographer, I have used many differing brands of CF over the years, and Sandisk is the only, and I mean ONLY, one that I know with 100% certainty will give me the peace of mind that every time I take a picture, I know that it will have been properly stored into memory. Whether it's candid shots of my grandson, or an important assignment, the Sandisk is the only storage device that I will use. The fact that it is screaming-fast in the read/write department is just an added bonus!

Currently, this card is being used with a Nikon D1x, but will soon be used with a Nikon D3. Performance with the D1x is very good. Performance with the D3 remains to be seen.

I was looking for a card for a new camera (Canon 40D) so I could shoot raw..Concerned that it would be too slow (given the speed ratings of the IV) Shooting JPEG mode on the 40D, the speed of the card was great, the 40D would shoot at its max frame rate until exhausting the 8GB card.. very impressive. The 40D has a buffer and the memory card was fast enough in JPEG mode to never even fill half the buffer... In Raw mode, another story.. The card can sustain at maximum frame rate a burst of 15 before the camera slows. In its medium frame rate the card can sustain a burst of 20 before the camera slows... On the PC, the card is typical of a card of this type, the packaged software is a nice touch..

This product worked great and provided the extra image storage I needed without having to transfer images to another media until after I returned home. Great value.

I use an Olympus E 510, Great camera, I would use nothing less than the extreme 8 gig card IF you will be shooting/saving in the"RAW"or "SHQ" format or rapid burst(multi frames per second shooting) this card is fantastic.ps I also have a 1 gig xd card which is next to useless in the higer quality settings.if you are shooting in the lower quality settings it doesnt make much difference. Im currently traveling and shooting in Thailand.

I have about 16 4 GB and 8 GB cards from SanDisk, and often shoot more that 12,000 images in a weekend. SanDisk cards have been 100% reliable for me over the last 5 years. The Extreme III cards are superb, BUT the Extreme IV cards have been a big improvement for me because of noticeably faster record times during fast action, and very significantly improved download times IF YOU USE A FIREWIRE 800 CARD READER (2x faster than extreme III - it adds up, believe me).

I love to take pictures. I have a heavy shutter finger and will occasionally shot more than one image when in high speed mode. This requires extra storage and the Sandisk Extreme III 8GB CF provides. This card has lots of storage, about 15 rolls (a film roll of 36 images in case anyone forgot what a roll of film is ;-) ) worth when I shot in raw on my Canon 10 MP camera. That is a lot shooting. With 2 cards I seldom run out. And I don't have to change the card very often. I know people warn of loosing all image in case a card fails, never seen it happen.

I own several Extreme III cards in each of the following sizes: 1GB, 2GB, 4GB and now 8GB. These cards are built like tanks with the agility of a Porsche Carrera. What more need one say?

I have 2 of these and they're very reliable, plus they hold a lot of images, virtually eliminating the need to take extra memory cards.

Minimal Pause Time Between HighRes Shots
By alberich
I shoot High-res (for digital SLR) action sequences underwater where storage delays are intolerable and changing the card is impossible. This CF format card gives me simultaneously the maximum number of shots and the minimum pause between sequences. As is true with most quality flash products it performs flawlessly and the only way I've ever found to damage one is to leave it in a puddle of coffee long enough to dry out! Currently the fastest CF card shipping in 8GB
