This lens has made it much easier to capture candid shots without having to be on top of your subject, spoiling the "surprize". It's use at partys & weddings has been a pure pleasure and has provided outstounding results.

Bought this for my son's G7 and he has been able to capture tightly framed candid closeups of my 3 year old grandson at distance, going unnoticed and avoiding inevitable " mugging ". Lens is quite sharp without significant light reduction. Frankly, I was pleasantly surprised at its performance and it is well worth the very reasonable price, through Adorama.

Just recently got this lens from Adorama. For all of the telephoto lens' I have used in the past, Canon, Nikon and Mamiya, for the price - it kicks (blank). I especially like the way it brings the subject in on the digital zoom feature on my Canon A650 IS, just incredible.

makes a good hand support fot the G9 and very good optics but very bulky like the W/A converter

It takes some time to learn what ranges of shots and functions work best with this lens, but overall I'm happy with the purchase.

It costs [$] and is well worth the price. And more. The thing is small, fast and sharp, a real bargain for the money. It takes some getting used to, and the small camera needs to be held REALLY still, but it is a good, useful addition to a great small camera.

The Tele is good with some restrictions. Almost you need to zoom all the way before shooting (It does not work if you just zoom less than 2x). G9 does not allow you to use the 2.0x len with RAW setup.

Very nice add-on. Makes the camera stable and and easy to use with two hands. 2x zoom is a lot in many situations. Negative thing is that you cant use the whole zoom range of the camera with converter mounted.

Having been in the business of professional photography for over 15 years I would never have imagined having a camera system of such capability at such a low cost and so lightweight and portable to boot! I own the Canon G9 and added the TC-DC58C along with the Wide Converter WC-DC58B as a back up to my Hasselblad and Nikon equipment. The G9 system is now getting more use in my travel photography than anything else given the portability and ease of use with nearly comparable results when shooting in the RAW mode. The TC-DC58C greatly extends the tele-capability of the camera with no loss of image degradation that I can detect. The lens itself is as big as the G9 and when combined with the required Lens Adapter LA-DC58H, it makes the otherwise small G9 into a very naturally comfortable two-handed system. Add to this that the converter costs less than [$]and you can see why I'm a happy camper!

This is far away the best tele converter for the Canon G7!

This is an incredible lens adapter. You will need the Canon or Lensmate lens adapter in order to use it with your G7. First, the pros: I didn't notice any significant loss in sharpness when used within the optical zoom range of the G7, nor did I see any significant increase in purple fringing or any other undue optical anomalies. The total optical zoom range of the G7 with the TC-DC58C is 12X. If you use digital zoom, it goes up to 1680mm. The pictures really do hold up fairly well up to the 2.3X digital zoom setting and even the 4.0X digital zoom setting is not horrible. With digital zoom, the zoom factor becomes an outrageous 48X! (1680/35) The G7 still responds very rapidly and I was able to take shots I would never have thought of before. Airplanes in flight about a mile away, bees at work, birds foraging, birds primping... I did set the G7 so that it was using the TC-DC58C setting for IS. I would say that this is probably the least expensive, most dramatic single purchase I have made to expand the capabilities of the G7. (I've also purchased the Raynox HDR7000 Pro 0.7x wide angle adapter, and the Metz Mecablitz 20 C-2 flash) I am amazed by this lens. It comes with a front and back lens cap as well as a soft draw-string pouch that is padded on the bottom and that is big enough to hold the lens along with a lens adapter attached. Cons: The Canon TC-DC58C does not have front threads so it can't accept a filter. It blocks the optical viewfinder so that it is unusable. It will also partially block the flash output.

• Converts the focal length of the body lens by a factor of approximately 2.0 (35 mm film equivalent at maximum telephoto: approximately 420 mm) when attached.
Requires the Conversion Lens Adapter LA-DC58H and LA-DC58J for A650 IS
