No, this is not a $ teleprompter, but the unit comes with a case that makes it easy to go on location with clients. It is surprisingly well built and worked great with our ipad. We used this with both a Nikon 850 slr and an actual JVC video camera. It fit fine on the base and the hood had a drawstring around the opening which helps keep light out.

The mirror angle takes a bit to get use to and isn't adjustable. It it relatively easy to setup and use for simple setups.

This is a great teleprompter for those who don't have a big budget to work with. It is built well and works great. I gave it four stars though for two minor design issues. First, when you lay the screen flat for storage there is a pin that pops into a hole and locks it in place. However, when you set the screen up for use, there is a threaded screw that you have to find the hole and screw it in to lock it into place. Finding the hole would be much easier if the pin just slipped into the hole itself. The current pin already has a spring tensioned knob on it that has to be pushed in as you screw it in place. The second issue is that you have to be careful when pulling the strings to close the hood around the camera lens. If you are not paying attention you will pull the lower part of the hood in front of your camera lens. I highly recommend this teleprompter though. The construction is much better that I ever anticipated. The two issues above are minor in the long run (but still worth knowing about). The storage/carrying case is well made and well designed to protect the teleprompter.
