I brought this product with great expectation from Fry's. But as soon as I switch on the receiver there is so much of noise on the recording. I even tried to switch the channel, turn on and off each device..nothing helping me. Need to return this product.

What a horrible product. Static throughout, even when you try to stay perfectly still and tape down the wire underneath your shirt. Shocking that Sony would produce such a bad product. When we called for support, they said they don't support this product by phone anymore, we would have to contact support through live chat online. What kind of company does that? Needless to say, we are on our way to the store to buy a new non-Sony microphone.

Well this has a higher input level than the azden which is also goo but I my first and second shots were ruined by large popping noises throughout the audio. Changed the frequency but still got the problem. I returned the azden because of too much interference too. Wish I could find an audio transmitter that worked well. I am pretty good with audio editing and have worked with it for years. But getting audio transmitted into the camera has always been very challenging, interference and low level audio has often occurred and ruined more shots than not. Not salvaging my first shots what a waste.

This unit is terrible, bought it to do some video work and it crackles and pops. Do not waist your money. Always thought sony was made a good product, guess my opinion has changed. Waisted $200.00.

If you like wasting 6hrs of your day to shoot a 2 min video - this mic might be for you! (3 hrs, 20 takes, 3 hrs to cut and trim at home all static spots). Tried everything, FM interference off, dryer sheet to clothes, switched channels, new batteries always...booo Sony!

Based on Sony's reputation, I reckoned this would be a great product, and I bought 2 of these. Both the same: it is unusable due to the amount of static/noise, even at very short distances. An expensive mistake.

Wow, this product was a massive disappointment. I wanted it to do something simple, just let me do tutorial video recordings. Literally, me standing in front of a screen, not moving, but using the lapel mic to ensure good quality audio recording. I figured for over $100 this system would provide it. It's unusable. The sound is horrible, muffled and static-y. I can't imagine how poor the sound quality would be if I were actually moving around, because standing three feet from the camera, motionless, the sound quality is worse than if I use the internal mic in the camera! What a waste of money.

Have just used a few times- and will admit that there may be something I don't know- but so far I have used the mic on every channel at distances of only 10 to 20 feet and there is terrible static. Sitting completely still was not too bad- but I expected a lot more.

The WCS-999 is ideal for video camcorders - it captures the voices of family members on vacation, in sporting events, at recitals, birthdays and weddings. It is also ideal for Pressman portable audio recorders as it captures lectures and speeches, good for music and nature study.

Omni-directional microphone pattern picks up sound from all directions. Pocket-sized wireless transmitter is easy to hide, clips onto clothing for unobtrusive use. Wireless receiver plugs into camcorder or audio recorder mic input; easily clips onto clothing, camcorder hand strap or shoulder strap.
Three transmission channels enable you to choose another channel if you encounter interference. Monitoring earphone lets you hear what's being recorded; plugs into wireless receiver. Mic mixing lets the camera operator and the subject both be recorded. 900 MHz wide FM transmission allows for outstanding sound quality, excellent frequency response (100 - 15, 000 Hz) and extended dynamic range (more than 78 dB). Switchable transmission channel lets you choose the channel with clear, noise-free sound.
