Bought in late August '19. Used somewhat regularly but not abused. Worked perfectly up until today. Without the TV/receiver being on, the sub was making the common pulse/heartbeat noise on it's own. Currently looking for a different brand now as I thought Klipsch made great products.

I have owned this R112SW for roughly 3 years. Yes, it sounds great, but.....after having issues and searching the internet for a soliton, it seems like the amp on these doesn't like it's job and eventually quits.

If could possibly be your receiver that can't handle the sub maybe?

I know its not the speaker cause when i unplug the power and plug it back on all works for about 10-15sec and it shuts off again?? If i turn it all the way Down.. it keeps playing but if i turn up the just a quarter if just shuts Down!!! Anyone with the same problem????

Sub crapped out after about 3 years. Now it's an expensive boat anchor. They need to fix the known issue with these atrocious quality plate amplifiers and offer replacement options to those of us out of warranty that have failed.

I've had mine for about a year and a half and it's started shutting off after about 30 min. Only way to get it to work again is unplug it and plug it back in and get another 30 min or so out of it. Seems the amp has heat issues and toasts caps and resistors. Mine does have a resistor thats gotten kinda crispy. There is an "updated" amp they have to fix the issue but it's over $200 for a sub that already cost $500 when I got mine. Waiting to hear from their support staff.

I bought one early last year, and liked it so much I bought another one. Buying the R-112SW at Adorama is the best value I've found in subwoofers. I'm crossing over fairly-capable tower speakers to a pair of these now, and using room equalization to gets a smooth response.

Good sounding sub without being boomy and muddy. It?s not an SVS but it is still solid.

After my last sub that I built got ruined in a flood, I decided to to look for a ?store bought? sub. Here in Houston we have Modia, a ?higher end? home entertainment center. After much discussion, the salesman convinced me to buy a Klipsch 112SW, noting it?s ?high quality? and great sound. Well, it did sound great, no question there, but for for quality?.I?ve had it about 3 years now and suddenly it goes silent. I researched issues with this particular model and low and behold there seems to a known issue with overheating and burning up of capacitors. I took the plate off and saw for myself charred components exactly YouTube videos showed. A hard earned $600 or so dollars down the drain because of known issues. A really sad showing for a brand I thought was higher end. Of course it?s out of warranty and I?m stuck with a nice looking SW box that doesn?t work. What am I to do now? Send the board back to Klipsch for a replacement? I think they?ll just laugh at me. I?m very disappointed with Klipsch products now and will discourage anyone I know from looking in Klipsch?s direction unless Klipsch owns up to their issues and rectifies my issue.

I have had this sub for about 3 years. Recently the power plug has gotten loose and now my sub will not power up at all. I have even changed the plug hoping that would fix it. Still doesn't work. I love the sound and power of bass this thing puts out, I just wish the plug was a more solid design.

Me and many other owners of the R-112SW subwoofer have the same exact problem, after 3 years or more it dies. The part to fix it us $200, they've been having this problem for many years and haven't corrected it. TRASH

Get ready to be moved. The Reference R-112SW subwoofer lets you feel the impact of your favorite music and movies rather than just hearing them. In fact, its rich, full deep bass will shake you up as soon as you push play.
The R-112SW features a 12-inch spun-copper Cerametallic driver that is exceptionally light yet extremely rigid - providing remarkably low frequency response with minimal cone breakup and distortion. The front-firing slot port with proprietary internal geometry minimizes port noise for clean undistorted low frequencies. The built-in all-digital amplifier delivers ample power with high efficiency and true-to-source accuracy in reproduction.
Low pass crossover and phase control allows you to blend the subwoofer's low-frequency tones with other Klipsch speakers as well as establish the ideal level of bass. For the greatest placement flexibility, add an optional Klipsch WA-2 Wireless Subwoofer Kit for a simple wireless connection.
The R-112SW is housed in a durable MDF cabinet and finished with a brushed black polymer veneer and satin painted MDF plinth. The front-mounted LED power indicator lets you know when the system is powered on or off.
