I use this both with a filter to create a colored back ground on a white backdrop and for controlled lighting of a subject.

The grid is perfect for use on flash units from various manufacturers, as it uses an elastic/velcro/snap system for mounting. Specific lighting effects are possible with the narrow focus this grid allows. I plan to buy an additional one.

Light is easily focused to highlight or enhance a subject.

Quick, easy, efficient ! I'm a mobile photographer so I pack my studio and take it on location. This little honey comb combo grid gives me options with very quick setup which is what I need. It works perfectly and breaks down and packs away in a snap. Coudn't be happier with my purchase. It's a little piece of gold!

Since I already own a small Rogue Flashbender, I know the quality that Rogue products bring to the table. I was, however, a touch worried that the grid would fall off of the end of the grid holder, having read that as an issue in other reviews. However, Rogue has addressed this problem by adding two loops of elastic to the device that loop over the grid assembly, holding it on. Throughout the time I used the grid, I never had a problem with it falling off. The design is great, and the little details really do make this a nice product. One thing to note is that with the new design, you cannot use this as a very small Flashbender. In previous designs, the grid holder could be spread out, but it is now a closed loop, which is another design change addressing what many saw as a fault, the velcro holding it together. All in all, these design changes make the grid holder perfect for me. The only thing I don't like is that the design does prevent you from easily putting gels on your flash. Rogue, of course, has a solution to that by way of their $30 grid gels system. From what I can tell, that's an awesome system, but $30 for a pack of gels still seems a bit $$$ to me.

This is a must have accesory when shooting weddings or social events. The option to narrow the angle of the grid is a really nice feature and easy to do. I've also bought the gels kit for this products and I'm really happy with the results. I'll buy another one on the next weeks to light the backgrounds of the pictures I take. If used in a SB900 or SB910 I'll recommend to set the zoom to 85 mm because the flash will reload quickly and won't overheat due to the useless < 85 degrees. Keep in mind that when the light narrows to 25 degrees having the flash to "split" light on a 18 mm zoom (+/- 100 degrees) is useless because this grid will converge it to 25.

A great device for modifying a speedlite to be a hair light or background light.

The unique Rogue patent pending stacking grid design provides 16 degree, 25 degree and 45 degree spot lighting control. This means that photographers can choose among three different size grid spots from their small strobes using a single, portable piece.
