The Scout TK will pick out hot spots at a fairly good distance, but identification of the object is at 100 yards or less. The value for the price is good. Shipping was quick.

I would not recommend getting this model anymore, it is manufactured in 2016 and there are better options like the taipan agm micro. I ended up returning this because it had bad battery life and low resolution.

Not worth the price.

Got this to locate our cat at night in our backyard/ woods. In order to see any heat signatures through this you need a direct line of sight. Any foliage/bushes will block the view of animals behind them. I understand it wouldn't see through trees or buildings but basically at night a flashlight would work just as well. Returned.

Flashlight would work better

Looks just like the picture , doesn't  go out as far as I would like but a great product for beginners.  And the shipping fast and easy for the first time .

this product is everything I would hope you would be.  In the twilight of a hunt I could see animals coming on the f l i r  but not with the naked eye.  I would recommend this product to any serious hunter.

I love it,  great entry level thermal vision device. High quality product.  This is great for seeing animals on your property at night and for viewing cold drafts and insulation leaks around the house for improving energy efficiency. It does lose clarity at distances quickly,  so if you're looking for high performance get a better model. But for 10-100ft out it works great.

Pros: Does exactly what it's supposed to do, great for night hiking, battery life is very good, first affordable unit like this. Cons: Menus don't stay on screen very long, most of the color schemes don't add a heck of a lot.
