Love this camera. It is a higher expense coming over from the mirrorless SLR world, but it's real high quality workflows and the global shutter alone is worth the price. Unmistakable image quality, and it runs in every NLE smoothly. I now feel like I can rest comfortably and run with this camera til the wheels fall over and not worry about the latest mirrorless entry that gets released every nine months. 6K resolution is the perfect resolution and offers you so much flexibility while not killing your wallet by buying a ton of media cards and external hard drives; I can shoot at 6K, do my occasional repo in post, and downsample for a super clean 4K standard format. 8K (compressed) raw and beyond would be costly from a disk space/media card standpoint and that was a factor why I just decided to roll with 6K, and I've come find out it's a perfect format for me for these very reasons.

Awesome little cinema camera that keeps getting better and better with firmware updates. The image out of this camera is fantastic. Color grading the footage is a joy.

This thing is a work horse. Swiss Army knife of cameras. I?ve been working on great projects constantly since getting it. And Adorama was able to get me one in 2 days right before my shoot when everyone else?s didn?t have them in stock. Adorama saved the day!

Love this camera so far, the dynamic range it great as well as the RED Raw codec. The ability to switch from any ISO number and retaining the highest quality is just amazing. It?s a bit pricey but if your in the field like me, I usually work with a small crew of 3-6 people on set, so my 1st Ac normally gets it up and running for me.

Big thanks to Adorama for getting me my camera in speedy fashion. Definitely much faster than other retailers! The camera works as advertised and what it was purchased for. Amazing image quality as expected in a small form factor. A specialty camera with specialty functions that can push the limits ! Love how versatile it is !

Is it the best RED camera out there? Probably not. Is it the best image for the money? Definitely debatable. Did I cease having gear envy once I got my Komodo? Incredibly, YES. I've had it for about 11 months now, and it totally does everything as advertised. I've shot narrative pieces, mini-docs, and full on features with it...it really is a do-it-all RED camera. I've shot professionally with Sony FX6/FX9, Canon C300 mk II, Blackmagic P4k/6k...this camera made me forget all of them! The amazing global shutter, ease of gimbal balancing, and beefy 16-bit RAW make it stand out from the cameras I just listed...only the Alexa Mini beats it in terms of form factor/image quality. While it's not a perfect camera, it checks all the boxes for me, no regrets with it!

Worth the Wait and the Money... and considering its a RED Camera, the money part is actually fairly reasonable. Global Shutter, 13 stops of dynamic range and the cube shape really helps with rigging to one's needs. The only issue is that its a 6 month wait as of June 2021, so hopefully one wouldnt need it right away.

I definitely recommend to whom ever is interested in this product,(red digital cinema Komodo camera). What I like about this camera is the size and weight and also it gives out amazing quality images. If you cant decide what kind of camera you want, I'd say this is the one to get.
