My first telescope and what a great one it is. The quality is robust. Its weight is reassuring as you set up and search the night sky, while also not giving me an excuse on a clear night to not set it up (I get lazy when things are difficult haha). I don't feel like I will be breaking it any time soon. The views are fantastic, and though there are chromatic aberrations, they do not deter from the viewing experience. My only issue is the finder. It's easily altered while stargazing and if you move the telescope too much, it's no longer synced with it. It's also completely mirrored horizontally and vertically so that takes getting used to as you find your target. I prepared for the future with the included equatorial mount as I plan to only be a stargazer. I like finding and tracking things myself and the mount does a great job! Future telescopes will work great on it!

For general use it is relatively capable, cheap, sturdy and easy to use and learn, well matched with the mount. Main negative is that it is achromat, you will see chromatic aberration in general use, for it rating is 3 stars. However, it is almost perfect for my specialist use - Solar observing in HAlpha and CaK lines. For it chromatic aberration is irrelevant and the combination of aperture and focal length is exactly where I need it with Quark filters&Apollo M camera while the mount provides all that is needed for this specific case.

A lot of chromatic aberration. Minimal improvement of picture quality and planet details as compared to my old 2 1/2? refractor It only comes with one eyepiece.

Well built. Solid be quality. Very good price. Iam a quality inspector and this equatorial mount is solid. It's heavy and the tripod legs are thick. I am would definitely recommend any one who is looking for a good, affordable, well price, well built mount

We decided to step up from a basic telescope to something a little more powerful. Well, A LOT mpre powerful in this case! In my opinion, for the money, this is an OUTSTANDING purchase! Everything from the mount, to the telescope itself, to even the included eyepiece is excellent hardware. The tripod and moint alone are definitely worth every penny. The telet itself is a beautiful piece of hardware, os easy to use, and opens up the sky to sp mich more exploration! If you are looking for a telescope that is worthy of your hard-earned money, this is the one you'll want! A few notes: it only comes with a 25mm eyepiece. Get yourself a set of eyepieces when you order this. The documentation online is kind of lacking, but we found that the eyepiece on the telescope has a 2" adapter for dslr's or other cameras (we ordered the Celestron Universal Phone Mount). IT IS HEAVY! It comes in two boxes, you'll find that the tripod/mount is significantly heavier than the telescope. I have attached pictures, they were all taken by simply putting my phone on the eyepiece. The full view is with the 25mm that is included, the others are a 10mm with extension. With the COVID situation not improving, many people are getting into astronomy, and telescopes are very hard to find. Adorama is always outstanding to work with, i only had to wait a couple of weeks for the telescope to arrive and to be shipped.

I love the telescope. The tripod is a bit heavy and I have to take the telescope apart to carry it to the backyard. However, when it gets bumped it stays focused which is fantastic! I haven’t been able to see any deep space objects yet because I live in the city. I can see the cloud bands on Jupiter. I’m looking forward to taking it to the hills when the fires are out.

Great scope! The tripod and mount are both heavy and sturdy. Getting the scope balanced with the counter weights and using slow motion controlls is easy. The optics are quite good for astrophotography or regular viewing. I have done prime focus and eye piece projection with this scope. Polar alignment is a bit tricky. It doesnt come with a polar scope, but the CG4 mount has a spot for one. Overall, im happy!

I have yet to receive it! It's on back order! I did get the mount and tripod tho! The mount and tripod seem to be high quality. Very strong and stable! I've communicated with celestron and they have no idea when the manufacturer will complete the order. The good news is, I was only billed for the part I received. Last time I do business like this!

Quick delivery, well made scope and very well made equatorial mount. I do wish it had another eyepiece or a barlow, but now i get to buy better quality ones than normally ship with scopes of a lesser quality.

I got this scope with the intention of getting in to astrophotography and it blew away all my expectations. A couple things to note is that you will have to collimate this scope, and you will want the dual axis motor drive for photography. This is a great scope for the money and would buy it again in a heartbeat. The large aperture and short focal length make it a great candidate for viewing large low light objects.

Easy to assemble and maintain, The mount is really stable. Refracting telescope is really Huge (6 inch objective lens). I was able to see fine detail on jupiters atmoshere (the belts and spot) using polarized filters at 107X, When atmoshere was quieter! Also saw Mars (ice cap) using special filters, Saturn's (on-edge) rings, Great telescope at Great price!

This is the first telescope I have owned, although I have been seriously stargazing for about a year (with 15X70 Binocs). Even from a VERY light polluted area (I live in the middle of a metro area with almost 2 million people), I am able to see a surprising number of deep sky objects. Clusters and larger nebula are easy, and even galaxies have been faintly visible, such as M81, M82, M104 and M94. The galaxies are hard to find because of light pollution and because I only have two eyepieces (4 and 25mm - a 9 is on the way!). But remember, this is viewing from a very urban, horribly light-polluted area. When I get this thing to a dark sky location, I have a feeling I will be absolutely thrilled! Very well constructed, super tripod. Magnificent views of the moon and Saturn! Very happy with the scope. Also very happy with Adorama so far, bought the scope and an eyepiece from them -[...]

I received my new Omni XLT 120 refractor about 3:00 pm Friday, July 20th. I set it up to get familiar with this scopes features. [...] First was the size, wow this is a large scope. The tripod and the mount especially the mount are quite heavy. This makes for a really stable platform. Considering the weight once fully assembled, slewing the scope was effortless. Just balance the scope as described in the manual. Note to Celestron: The box with the tripod and the box with the OTA both had manuals and software. The only problem I have to report is that I had to take apart the 1.25" star diagonal as the mirror was not positioned correctly. Two minutes to fix, no big. Also want to mention that the fine tuning knobs are so close together laterally on the mount and so large that they come into contact with each other. I will be getting flexible extender cables though for ease of reach, so again, no big. That night (last night) I took the new Omni out to the dark site ( two hours west of Chicago, Light pollution capital of the world ) to meet several astronomy club members and go for a test viewing. Another WOW! Everybody was impressed by the handling and optics. I have never seen the quarter moon so sharp and clear. Craters inside craters. The patterns of Jupiter were quite clear, after putting the light reduction cap on the lens though, as the light transmission is so strong. I was using eyepieces that are just to much for my 10" Dob; 5mm or 9mm on a 2X barlow. 25mm and 38mm really were the best for seeing open clusters. Even managed to spot that comet between Alkaid and Izar. This was my fifth or sixth viewing session with these new friends of mine and I saw more last night than all other nights put together. The Equatorial mount takes some study, but even so, try just looking for faint "fuzzies" through the finder scope and you might find M6, the "butterfly cluster," like I did. All in all an awesome scope for the price with great potential. I already have a wish list started.

This is my first telescope purchase ever so I cannot compare it to anything else. The scope is great and the mount seems to be a perfect match. The construction was easy, you can tell how high quality everything is when putting it together. Everything fits so snug and seems very heavy duty. [...] First night out I saw orions nebula, very beautiful and the sliver of moon was gorgous also. Second night out I tried out the dual axis motors. No polar alignment and just rough north alignment using my eyes. I was amazed at the accuracy of these motors. I set my scope on saturn and used my 6mm w/ 2x barlow, engaged the motors, left for about 10 minutes. I was very surprised that when I came back saturn was still in my scopes view. Also, I purchased the Celestron accessory kit which I highly recommend. I purchased the 5 EP + barlow one which is great. I highly recommend this scope to any beginner wanting to purchase a quality scope that will last them a very long time. Soon I will be using this scope for beginner astrophotography. Can't wait!
