Loving it!!!

I bought this to shoot video, but if offers so little stabilization that even after I put it through Premiere Pro's stabilization software, it was still pretty much unusable. 

Also, it can't handle anywhere near the weight it claims to. It worked ok with my Nikon D810 and 50mm 1.4 lens, but as soon as I put the battery grip on, it wasn't even strong enough to hold the camera upright. It just kept flopping down and facing the ground.

Ronin M is awesome

I don't actually have the product but whoever wrote and made that short film has me messed up. The cinematography was honestly beautiful and the story was enough to make me cry. I'd recommend this product. It's not as expensive as the other models but does it's job.

Why am I crying.

This is an amazing gimbal, easy to balance and delivers fantastic stabilization. It came with two original batteries 1580mAh. To wind up all this, I received a very good customer care from Adorama. By the way, shipping was super fast.

The built quality of this gimbal is awesome, performance is amazing.

Have it for a two weeks and had only a chance to try it around a house and backyard. Very nice and quality piece of equipment.
Even though it is pretty light, when combined with a DSL you feel the weight after using it for a few minutes.
I wish it was possible to put it down without using the special stands that comes with it.
Balancing and adjustment is relatively easy (after watching few YouTube videos). I have still not mastered it and see small shakes in the footage, but I am sure that is an user error.
Hopefully, after using it for a while the quality of the video will improve even more.

Very happy with the shipment of the product. Works just fine. Was a little worried about the 2nd battery not functioning until I did a little research and found out it's a common issue but was fixable.

This piece of equipment is not setup easily.  The instructions supplied are difficult to follow. They don't even match the piece of equipment shipped.  The first time I tried to find a manual online it didn't exist.  Secondly, they never tell you all the extra stuff you really need in order to get a usable piece of equipment.  I had to order a bunch of stuff and it is still sitting in my lab in pieces.

Not ready for prime time.

The Ronin is noisy and takes too much time to set up for our run-and-gun production settings.  Instead, we're using a Sony A6500 on a Zhiyun Crane V2 3 Axis Handheld Gimbal Stabilizer 3 32bit MCUs Brushless Motors with Encoders for Mirrorless Camera Sony A7 series/Panasonic LUMIX Series/Nikon J Series/Canon M Serie With Mini Tripod

Loud & Clunky. Use only if you have time to set it up for each shot

If you don't have a gimbal or stabilizer in your gear then you're missing out. The Ronin-M will free you up to shoot almost anything with little to no set up. Tripods are great for movies and commercial spots, but if you're filming the unpredictable like a wedding or something mobile, then you'll need a stabilizer for sure. The Ronin-M is around the ($) price range and you'll need additional gear to set it up with your equipment, but this is the type of gear you need to go from a few bucks on your friends project to real money at a wedding or music video.

Slight Learning Curve, But A Must Have For Any Professional

It performs exactly as I had hoped. I did have a small internal issue with one of the batteries but DJI sent me a working replacement. 

It delivers as expected.

Best Ever

The DJI Ronin M is the perfect size and function combination for the work that I do.

Definitely get the thumb controller if you work alone, I have honestly no use for the remote control that comes with this system.

I've worked with Steadicam systems for years and this Ronin M lets me get my cameras lower and more stable than I've ever been able to accomplish in the past. 

I use an iPad Mini II for the DJI Assistant App. That is perfect since I also us the same pad for my DJI Phantom Quads. Keeping it simple. Bluetooth connection is perfect.

I spent 30 minutes setting up and balancing while on the "tuning stand" That stage is where you want to spend most of your time initially. Get serious and tweak every tiny movement until all three Axis are balanced in any position, this eliminates motor noise and saves you lots of battery power. 

I use the shipping velcro straps to snug it down to the tuning stand and put it in the suv assembled and ready to go. I considered buying a specialized case, but I don't want clients to be waiting on my to setup. Also to save time, I dedicated one camera body and lens to the Ronin, so it's ready to go. You get one camera mounting plate.

The work I do is a combination of video and still photography, so I need to be able to grab ronin and get going.

PROBLEMS: Initially, the app showed that the batteries were not DJI Smart Batteries and displayed a yellow warning triangle. After removing and re-seating the batteries a couple of times, that warning went away and the app displayed appropriate battery parameters.

I also purchased the monitor quick release clamp and attached a 7" iKan monitor. With the battery, that added quite bit of weight to the rig. I recommend getting the lightest and smallest monitor you can work with, as I only use the monitor to get my framing correct, not so much for focus acquisition.

I have absolutely no reservations about recommending this Gimbal Stabilizer for those who want to spend less time using Warp Stabilizer in Premiere Pro and need to get those action sequences with minimal camera movement. 

Glad I waited for the Ronin M... just my size!

Light Weight Well Built MUST have

I'm fortunate to have a direct relationship with DJI marketing and fly their drones and have assisted in some of their web development.  For the past 2.5 years, I have been employing their "standard" Ronin ... I received one of the first 100 off the line.  It revolutionized my business.  I decided to procure the Ronin-M at about half the weight of the Ronin.  It may not seem like much, but it really makes a huge difference on long shoots.  The Ronin M is a dream to use! ... and I'll keep the standard Ronin as a "spare."

I love this thing! Best thing I've ever purchased for videography. I used to waste footage due to shaky images but I no longer have that issue. I only wish the stand was taller or more easily collapsible. Other than that, it's great. I guess it would be nicer if you didn't have to haul a stand around and some sort of stand was built into the design of the stabilizer. Lastly, if you want to hook up a hot shoe mic or external monitor, the ronin adapter is insanely expensive so I rigged two up with the GoPro handlebar mount. Works perfect!

Best videography purchase to date

This is a Solid System. I am even Flying a Black Magic Production 4K with a  Rokinon 35mm Cini lense. Took a little fine tuning to Balance but Flys like a dream.
