Packed with every feature I need and MORE! Especially love how the dock also powers the laptop and I cut back on my number of cables enormously.

I does most of what it needs to do (Ethernet, USB ports, Monitor via DP). I use a single monitor and use external keyboard and mouse. The intention is to keep the lid on my laptop closed at all times. But despite numerous firmware and software updates, I never know if the dock will activate the monitor after starting from sleep, hibernate, or booting up. When it does, it's great. But about 70% of the time, I need to open the lid, sometimes put the laptop back to sleep, or disconnect/re-connect the docking cable to get the monitor working again. That said, there is no noisy fan like with TB16, and by all accounts this unit is a lot more reliable as well. (Using new XPS 15 7590 laptop). My old E-Dock with a Latitude E6440 always worked reliably. Even going back to my old Latitude D610 on a D-Dock was also very reliable. These USB-C docking methods aren't as reliable like the older methods.

It does not have enough power to power Alienware laptops so you have to use computer power also

I was totally intimidated about setting this docking station up after reading the reviews. There are actually some really good links on Dell that give you step-by-step instructions on how to set it up. My first roadblock came when I was updating the BIOS on my Dell XPS 15 7590. I had done the other recommended updates no problem, but kept getting error messages when updating the bios. I called Dell and they figure out right away that I was not plugged into a power supply. I guess you can do regular updates not plugged in, but for bios updates you have to be plugged in. After that it was all pretty easy setting it up. As soon as I plugged in my monitors, keyboard, speakers, it was immediately recognized by the docking station. Dell had recommended a different docking station for my laptop, but after researching it on-line I found out that it would not charge the laptop. This one will charge it through the thunderbolt connection. I set up two monitors, speakers and a keyboard no problem. I went into my laptop's settings and changed it so that when I close the lid on my pc it will 'do nothing' instead of the default to go to 'sleep'. This set up allows me to close my laptop and slide it under the monitor stand to keep it out of the way while I work. If I don't change it to 'do nothing' then both monitors would go black when I closed the lid. I hope this helps. I am very happy with this whole set up and purchase of this docking station.

This generation of TB docks seems to work much better than the previous ones. I am fairly happy with it over all and have about 4 of these running in our company. A couple of things to be aware of. It has limited USB-A ports. It has limited monitor connecters, so if you run dual screens you may need to get an adapter. The USB-C to whatever (hdmi, vga, etc. adapters work well with this dock.

The thunderbolt dock is good, does the job; however I still wish it had a few more ports for attaching all peripherals (printer, scanner, keyboard, mouse, etc.)

Does what it needs to well. Docking stations still seem overpriced for what they actually are.

I see a lot of complaints about how it is not providing enough power... etc. There are two docks that look very similar, but are very different. WD19DC and the WD19TB. The first is USB C base and is therefore limits to 10Gbit and 60 watts of power delivery. Dell has tweaked it and it may provide 130 watts to some machines with, but this requires a 240 watt supply. If you have an XPS15 get the WD19TB (ThunderBolt). I have this with the standard 180 watt supply and my BIOS reads 130 watts coming into the system when it is connected and everything works great!. The TB also gives you 40Gbit of bandwidth, enough for one or possibly two 4K and a multitude of devices. I have an XPS15 9550. Be sure to update your BIOS, ThunderBolt Firmware, and ThunderBolt software!

So far so good. It is running two monitors, three USB devices (wireless keyboard/mouse, external hard drive & speaker phone) and one Ethernet connection. Plus it charges my Precision laptop all with just the Thunderbolt connection. It makes my laptop seem like a desktop when I'm in the office.

The docking station works well, after downloading the updated drivers and BIOS required for its operation, but does not provide enough power to simultaneously power a Dell XPS 15 7590 and two Dell UltraSharp 24 USB-C Monitor - U2419HC thru their USB-C cables. The monitors must be plugged into their own power supply to operate with the 7590.

The dock functions fine but it throws an error message on startup. After an hour on the phone with Dell support I was told the only way around this is to start the laptop first, then plug in the docking station. That's fine unless the laptop's battery is dead. I've worked with many types of docking stations before and never had to boot the laptop first,. This appears to be a bios issue that Dell simply doesn't want to be bothered with.

This one works well. Plenty of power. Everything works - display, wireless mouse and keyboard from Logitech, external ssd drives, all all ports. But there are never enough ports, so bought a second port extender.

Works as advertised. Nice to have only one cable to the PC that also delivers power for use with 2 UltraSharp 27 USB-C Monitor. Online guide had good info on whitch dock you needed depending on your PC and monitors. Order filled quickly and shipping was free even to Alaska (not normally the case) Did require updating XPS 13 9360 PC BIOS which took multiple attempts. World have been helpful to have a "Quick Start" with pointers on updating the BOIS

Works well; only issues are when I dock a sleeping computer and need to cycle to wake up. Otherwise fast and easy to use.

So far the device has worked flawlessly. My end user only has to plug in one cable for his laptop power, mice, keyboard and two monitors. He has said it has been great.

As long as you update and install the latest BIOS and drivers, this product works as advertised without any problems. I have it connecting my Dell XPS 13 9380 to two ViewSonic VX-3276 monitors. The reason I took off a star is because of the price (which I'm sure will drop over time), and that it would have been nice to have a couple more USB 3.0 ports for that cost. I'm currently having to attach a USB hub from the dock which doesn't help if your trying to minimize devices and wires. But other than that, I'm happy with the product.
