I picked up an AS73FM-TAF about a year and a half ago, after reading numerous reviews. The Ibanez pickups are well-balanced, sound great, and some owners have changed pickups with the caveat that it isn't necessary. I consider this a great instrument as is, since the Ibanez hardware is of great quality. I asked and plan to use Elixir or NYXL 10-46 strings (and I have a set of Reverend Willie's 9s) stored in the Ibanez AS100C case (made by TKL Cases, also good quality). MusicNomad's Case Humitar and HumiReader also reside in the case to maintain the instrument at the ideal temperature and humidity.

The Ibanez Artcore AS73 Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar is a testament to the brand's commitment to quality and innovation in guitar craftsmanship. Since its introduction in 2002, the Artcore series has become the semi-hollow guitar of choice for a wide array of musicians across blues, country, rock, and jazz genres. Celebrating over a decade of popularity, the AS73 model continues to captivate players with its stylish Tobacco Brown finish, reliable performance, and versatile sound.
Crafted with a bound Rosewood fretboard, the AS73 offers a sleek, professional look paired with a comfortable playing experience. The warm, resonant tones produced by the Rosewood complement the guitar's semi-hollow body, delivering a rich sonic palette that is both durable and high-quality. This feature is particularly appealing to guitarists seeking the premium feel and sound of a more expensive instrument at an accessible price point.
The Artcore AS73 is renowned for its exceptional tone and sustain, as well as its stable tuning - a crucial aspect for performers who demand consistency during long sets or recording sessions. The innovative Quick Change III tailpiece streamlines the string changing process, allowing musicians to spend less time on maintenance and more time on creativity. Additionally, the Sure Grip III control knobs are meticulously designed to provide precise control with a non-slip grip, enhancing the player's ability to fine-tune their sound while adding a classic aesthetic touch.
Equipped with Classic Elite pickups, the AS73 produces a nuanced tonal range with a robust low-end, ensuring that each note is articulated with clarity and depth. Whether crafting old-school jazz tones or pushing the boundaries with hybrid semi-hollow rock sounds, this guitar is a versatile tool for artistic expression.
The Ibanez Artcore AS73 Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar, with its Tobacco Brown finish and bound Rosewood fretboard, stands out as an innovative, stylish, and reliable choice for musicians looking to make a statement both visually and sonically. With its blend of traditional design and modern features, the AS73 is poised to continue its legacy as a beloved instrument in the music community.
