general purpose lens, used for casual outdoor, people photography. You need to carry just one lens. -- Not so good in low lights, may need to switch to manual mode for focussing

using it to replace a 28 to 70mm that the auto focus quit working on. Love the extra range to 200mm. It will become my everyday use lens.

Canon EF 28-200mm f/3.5-5.6 USM is a very good all around lens for genheral use, especially weddings. I like it very much except for the lack of distance markings when focusing manually.
