This is a must for anyone doing pro-level video work on Lumix cameras. Sure, the other profiles are great. The vlog provides way more control in post for coloring and really does increase the dynamic range of the camera. I run a g9 and gh5s camera and never take them off v-log.

Having V-Log on a GH5 truly pushes it above the competition in a way I can't even describe. Need a short film? This thing will smash through it. Want to get started on photography with sharp images and excellent mid tier options? Say no more. Oh right this is just about V-Log, my bad.

Does what it's suppose to but not worth $100. An external recorder capable of recording 10 bit 4:2:2 is needed if you want to work with 4K 60fps. For all the headaches customers have with the lousy autofocus on the GH5 and G9 Panasonic should include this for free. Just like all the other camera manufactures do.

From the little experience I have with it, it gives me a great dynamic range to work with as I color grade in Davinci Resolve. Also, it is very easy to convert to Rec. 7-9 with just a couple of clicks on the same program. Unfortunately, it comes with a bit of a high cost, but that's not changing anytime soon.

The Panasonic V Log was a nice addition to my Gh5. Made color grading a little more accurate. I love the look of Cine-Like D. But, V Log picture profile is in another league

VLog has improved my videos drastically. More than I thought it would. Make sure to use the monitor LUT too and you’ll love the results!

Without it... The GH5 will only reach half of is potential. With it, you can create astounding imagery in video! Just don't under expose it when using it. However when you have to you can still get great imagery depending on how much.

My GH5 gets used as a 2nd cam to FS7, FS5 and Canon C series cams so the extra range and flexibility in color grading helps a lot and saves me a lot of in camera coloring time.

It definitely helps in dynamic range but it doesn't feel like a lot of dynamic range is added. It'd be dope if this came included with a pro-camera but this is just another company milking the customers

I held off on upgrading my GH5 to the V-Log mode for a while, and I am pleased with the results. The only (slight) downside to V-Log is that the code is physically mailed to you, so make sure to allow for shipping time before installation.

I like the way colors look with V-Log when the Panasonic lut is applied the colors are very accurate, much easier to edit than Cine D !

Recording in log, while not necessary in all situations can make life easier in post when using your own presets or LUTS for color grading. It will push your dynamic range further and give you the results you bought the GH5 for.

Thanks, Adorama, for throwing V-Log L in w/ my GH4. A lot of folks complain about the license activation process, which is not too complicated. No more complex than downloading and activating Sony timelapse app, etc. So far so good it seems by some V-Log L test shots I've done. Really appreciate the added dynamic range, and grading flexibility in post.
