Great portable little action camera. I purchased this camera for video recording and some minor photo. Video looks good for this type of camera and money. Stills are ok....not as sharp as i would have liked. But thats comparing it to my dslrs.

I have a number of other Nikon cameras and was very excited to get this cool little thing to take on hikes, play around with the kids etc. Although immediately after purchase we noticed that it was not really durable at all in drops or water. Now I must say I am very satisfied with the photo and video quality although I wish we had a few more video modes and the ability to use a BT microphone. Needs a feature to turn off the touch sensor. When the camera is wet the screen goes mad. Needs a more substantial charging/port door. Too easy to open with just a flick of the latch. Camera is back to Nikon service for a second warranty round. I am certain the second generation of this camera will finally make the mark, but for now this little guy is too much of a liability in the field. If you’re looking for a beta test for gen two please let me know! I am thankful that Nikon still makes the AW line because it’s actually durable to a certain extent and not just bare minimums!

I use it for mountain biking and trekking. I like it that much that it is with me now all the time. Take good pictures, waterproof, and I have it on hand whenever I need it. Don't use the phone anymore... this camera is a lot better and very durable.

I got my Key Mission 80 last week, and began using it right away. After a full charge, I turned it on, and read the Quick Start guide. In just a few minutes, I was taking pictures. This wearable camera is very solid yet lightweight, very small (which I like), and very easy to use. It will be so easy to travel with this camera, I can leave my DSLR and point and shoot at home. The menus are clear, and there are many controls, including white balance and exposure value. I tried the panorama mode today, and it was extremely easy to use; you just pan the camera, and it does everything else. Videos are also easy to take, and the vibration reduction is fantastic. It's waterproof, shockproof and freezeproof, and has a second selfie camera with face finding technology. Both cameras perform well in low light, as the lens maximum apertures are f 2.0 and f 2.2. I inserted a 64 GB micro SD card and it holds about 19,000 pictures. Battery life is very good, and a battery icon keeps you informed. There's also HDR mode, route shooting mode, and lots more. As a wedding and portrait photographer and a Nikon shooter, I'm really loving this camera, and I'll be using it extensively as I travel this month. Highly recommended, and fun to use!

Yes, waterproof. Shatter very slow. Can't get quick press and shoot. Video settings obviously limited. AF and exposure.... Below par. Evening shooting- forget it-grainy outcome, bad. Huge issue - could not stop recording, screen becomes unresponsive, locked, half pink colored, unit temperature starter to raise to about 158F/70C. Very hot. Battery drained in 45 min, then red LED finally off... Battery lasts only few hours on mixed video and pictures... If set to Wi-Fi sync with your phone, your fully charged phone battery will last 7 hours if you have good phone, or less . Don't use Nikon SnapBridge.. Design-- how you can wear it on the neck? If you don't have backpack (as advertised) unit will not be self balanced - hook strangely located off center. LOL. Need belt around your torso to attach unit holder.. weird. Don't buy, One Star for the name.

I am very disappointed with this camera. It is supposed to be a 12 MP camera but the main reason I purchased it was for the Route Shooting to capture images as I walk. In this mode, it is only 2MP. This is not indicated in any marketing materials regarding specifications. It is buried in a user manual that you have to download from the Nikon site. Further, It is supposed to be compatible with a backpack clip. I even confirmed this with a Nikon rep on the phone. Once I looked in the downloaded manual, I see that I need to spend an additional $60 to purchase two additional accessories to make it work. The website shows that it is compatible but it is not clear that the two additional items are needed. Do not waste your money on this!

I love the size and it takes great pictures. Easily fits in a shirt pocket and it's a real camera, not a phone. And Snap Bridge is pretty neat as well. Can't wait to try the video.

Cool little camera!!!
By Dolph
I love the size and it takes great pictures. Easily fits in a shirt pocket and it's a real camera, not a phone. And Snap Bridge is pretty neat as well. Can't wait to try the video.
The Nikon KeyMission 80 is a compact hands-free action cam that is smaller than an old-fashioned compact tape recorder. It is equipped with two cameras. The main camera is built into one side of the camera, with a fixed lens with an 80 degree angle of coverage and 12.4MP still recording, a secondary camera with a 4.9MP sensor and 90 degree coverage, positioned next to the 1.1-inch, 230k dot touch panel LCD monitor.
Effortless, elegant recording
KeyMission 80 is always at the ready. The camera turns on immediately when it's unclipped from the supplied AA-4 Camera Holder. Its large shutter release button and fast shooting speeds let you start recording without interrupting your enjoyment of the experience. When the decisive moment strikes, you'll be ready to capture it, effortlessly.
Small, lightweight design
KeyMission 80's small, lightweight design and single-handed operation means you can finally enjoy the moment and capture it. The supplied holder clips nearly anywhere and is ideally positioned for quick access when interesting moments happen. And despite being as small as a smartphone, KeyMission 80 delivers photo and video quality in a class of its own.
Waterproof, freezeproof and shockproof
Some of the most interesting, beautiful moments happen outdoors in conditions that aren't ideal for a conventional camera or smartphone. KeyMission 80 goes where the action is. It's waterproof down to 3.4-feet, freezeproof to 14°F and shockproof from drops up to 4.9-feet, making it ideal for trips to the pool and the beach, fishing, kayaking, camping and hiking, jogging, walking, cycling and so much more.
Built-in Wi-Fi® & Bluetooth® low energy
With the SnapBridge app installed, KeyMission 80 is always connected to your compatible smart device. Photos are automatically transferred to your smart device as they're taken, making it easy to review, edit and share your photos in the moment. SnapBridge also adds GPS and time/date information to your photos, so you can retrace your day or trip. You can even add your own captions, comments and SnapBridge logos to your photos.
NIKKOR optics, 12 MP CMOS sensor and Optical Vibration Reduction
KeyMission 80 features an exclusively designed compact NIKKOR lens. This outstanding 25mm f/2.0 equivalent lens captures spectacular details and textures, even in low light situations. Optical Vibration Reduction (VR) image stabilization counteracts camera movement for sharp photos and steady videos, crucial for a wearable camera. KeyMission 80's image-processing power also allows you to capture vivid, high-contrast landscape images.
In addition to the main camera, KeyMission 80 includes a second 4.9-megapixel camera on the back for self-portraits. The LCD monitor faces you, so composing your shot is easy. Take center stage with the whole wide landscape spread out around you.
Capture your experiences as they unfold with Route Shooting. Set KeyMission 80 to capture either 100 stills or 10 three-second movies within a specified period, and then go about your day. The 10 three-second movies are combined into a single movie, approx. 30 seconds long.
