This was a gift for my daughter. Purchased on sale and via the reviews. It EXCEEDED our expectations by 5x. The instrument showed up in perfect condition and is beautiful! Don't know how it plays yet, waiting on the amp. (And the lessons on how to play)

This is a great entry level bass guitar. It sounds great and is not too heavy. There were no sharp frets and neck dive is not a problem even though the bass is light. Tuners hold well and the setup was pretty good out of the box. I did lower the action a small amount due to personal preference. The only negative in my opinion is that the walnut does not have a lot of figure. However the matte finish is nice and the guitar gets a recommendation from me.

My first new bass guitar, and wow the sound is really great. The first unit I received had a ton of fret buzz and I was hoping it would come perfect out of the box. After receiving the second unit, I decided to have my go at modifying the neck relief bolt and it had a huge impact on the fret buzz. It's really lovely and I won't ever let this thing go. It's got tons of character!

I am a new bass guitar student and a bit of a perfectionist. I started looking for a bass in local pawn shops and there were TONS of choices. The problem was each one had moderate to severe issues that I could see and I'm no luthier. Even with all their issues they were $150 - $400 on average. I read tons of reviews and the GSR200B kept rising to the top of the list. I ordered from Adorama Music and was very pleased that the bass arrived a day early. The bass seems sturdy yet very light compared to some of the other basses I had held. The action was great right out of the box. It tuned well and sounds nice. I can't tell a lot of difference in tone between the pickups but there is a big difference between using one set and both. The boost changes the tone a bit along with the volume. The body of the guitar is absolutely beautiful. The wood is clear of imperfections and the walnut satin finish looks and feels good. So... I have a beautiful bass that sounds good. I have a warranty and the piece of mind that comes with it. All of this and I paid far less than the vast majority of the pawn shop models. So far I'm very happy with my decision and this instrument.

This is a great bass. It's light and it came very well setup. I am still learning, but I can't imagine any other entry level bass that performs as well as this one.

So far so good. Feels good in hand especially for the price. Only complaint is that the instrument cable connects at the side of the body instead of the front face which at times it gets in the way when seated and playing.

I pulled the trigger on this Ibanez GSR200B when it was on special figuring it was a good deal on an entry level bass. can't lose - etc. And it is. But I was even more impressed that Adorama listed it as a Mahogany body with a Rosewood fretboard. When it arrived and I pulled it out of the box and looked it over, it didn't look or feel like any Mahogany I have ever seen so I checked Ibanez's website and their (original and never updated page) lists this part as a Nyotah body with a Jatoba fretboard. link is below. To be polite, Nyotah is a cheaper wood with a lower resonance than Mahogany. To advertise Mahogany and give Nyotah is akin to advertising Prime beef and delivering Standard or Commercial grade. https://www.ibanez.com/usa/products/detail/gsr200b_02.html I gave it 3 stars because it's actually pretty well put together and there were no major flaws. To be completely fair: for a new part from a known name brand delivered to your door by a major retailer with a warranty and a return policy, it's a nearly impossible deal to beat (when it's on sale). At full retail it's overpriced once you realize it's made of cheap wood that's barely furniture grade from Wal-Mart. It's nice enough but mine's probably going back.
