Great trigger

This trigger works as it should. The TTL control is spot on and the High Speed Sync makes this a great tool. The price for this can’t be beat.

Great products straight out of the box

These units were back ordered a month on another website I placed an order with. Adorama was able to get them to me in 3 business days from my order and in time for a shoot. They work great in ITTL and manual modes right out of the box. I'm excited to finally be able to sync my flashes at 1/8000 sec off camera.

The work for the most part.

They work, most of the time. It's only just enough to be slightly aggravated during shoots. I have since moved on to the R2 flashpoint system

Great Triggers for the Money

I've used these for over 2 years with D5000 and D7000 series cameras and Nikon Strobes. I have found them to be a big improvement over the Nikon IR system. They're a little finicky and have failed to wakeup/ wakeup the flash a few times, but are reliable otherwise.

Nice unit - Great Value

I volunteered to shoot the wedding of a friend's child and needed to upgrade my existing speedlight setup. I bought a kit with the YN685 and this controller, together with another YN685. The learning curve was fairly easy. I found good on-line materials and practiced extensively in the 2 weeks before the event, but felt comfortable enough to manage when the event arrived, I believe I have a lot more to learn and grow into with the unit. For a hobbyist, this unit provides a great bang for the buck.

Battery compartment issues

I've used 4 603s for almost `10 years with great results and decided to try the 622. I bought a transceiver and 3 receivers. All 4 units required a shim in the battery compartment to hold the batteries tight. Terrible design. Other than that, nice product for the price.

GREAT PRICE FOR ENTRY LEVEL

I am a crime scene photographer, and for the price this was a great buy. This was my first flash trigger, and so far it seems to be very responsive. I have only had once chance to use it, but I was able to get the photos that I need, and was able to shoot at a little higher f stop, to get the depth of field that I needed. If you can buy the Nikon or other brands, then by all means, spend the money, but if you're on a budget, this was more than fill your need.

Excellent product for the money

After testing my i-TTL Yongnuo I have decided it's as good as connecting my flash directly to my camera. I don't know how they do it, but it just works great. I tested High Speed Sync at full speed with flash on camera and flash mounted to the Yongnuo. Both photos were the same.

I’m a Flasher now!

I have entered a whole new world of off camera flashes. I bought two flashes and a controller and it’s great. The controller and flashes take a little time to learn how to setup but they do a good job. It’s well built and a very good screen easy to read. You can’t go wrong with Yongnuo!

Reliable and Capable Unit

I love this controller. I have two Yongnu flash units that I control with this and it makes me much more portable than before. Works well with my nikon equipment. The price was reasonable. I have no complaints.

They Accomplish the Task At A Reasonable price

These units do a great job. I also purchased the YN622N TX Controller. I have used them extensively since I received them. They have done what I have asked them. They also will do far more than I have asked them. I have no complaints and I would recommend them to a friend.

If you have the transmitter you need these

I have this system with the transmitter and 3 of these. They work well and it's nice to shoot manual and change the setting on the transmitter. The system I find works very well. Be advised you need to know how to do a manual reset. There is a YouTube video and it's easy and when things don't seem right just do that. It's happened just a few times but not often. For the price and the performance they work exceptionally well. You can't trigger from a light meter is the only down side. You'll need to trigger and test from the camera. Some meters allow you to do this. Mine does.

Great budget controller / trigger.

This works well with Nikon cameras. The only issues I have ever had is you may think it isn't working at all. You need to do a reset on either the controller and/or triggers. The controller is easy as it has a dual set of clear buttons and the triggers it uses a combination of two buttons not labeled. Once cleared, it reverts to working as expected. Try to connect it all up before powering things up. Test in the trigger test first then test from the controller and you should know before you start if you'll have a problem. There is a Video on doing this.

TTL Flash on the cheap, not always reliable

This flash controller (I use it with two Yongnuo YN-685 flashes) usually works very well. With tripod use at eye level, you must either have somewhere else to mount it (other than the camera shoe), a step-stool or a mirror to read the LCD display atop the unit or its controls. But it will remotely fire an off-camera, rf-receiving Yongnuo flash... ...most of the time. And sometimes it does not fire. No doubt some of this is due to a mount that is sub-Nikon in build quality. But it's pretty amazing technology, and you can buy two of these and own a spare and buy two of their top flashes and some umbrellas for less than one Nikon flash, cost of radio controller extra.

FLAWLESS!

Out of the box, set them up (I purchased 4) and started using them. One on my Nikon D3, one on a Yongnuo 586 Speedlight, the other two on SB800s. Worked like a charm. Two wishes: That they included a pc cable, and they'd pay someone to write their manual in decent English, the translation stinks quite badly, something overcome quite easily in this day and age. Great product!

Wireless triggers that work!

The triggers work well. I had an older set of an early Yongnuo trigger and they were very iffy. These worked out of the box and the instructions had been written by someone who spoke English (unlike the previous ones!). Less range than Pocket Wizard but not a concern for products and portraits. Buy them.

Functional at a budget price.

This flash trigger has never failed to fire for me. While I think the range is somewhat overstated, I must say that it serves me well up to 50 feet with no problems. Simply select the same channels, put one on the camera and attach the second to the light and begin shooting. The units serve both at receiver and transmitter without requiring me to set any additional controls. Combing these with the Yongnuo YN-622N-TX Wireless i-TTL Flash allows me to functionality. These two sets allow me to control output levels three speed lights independently. What more could I ask for at this price.

Work as advertised

Use these triggers with a YN622N controller on my D3300 and YN565EX speedlight, plus an old Nikon SB 50DX speedlight. Although I haven't used them much yet, they appear to work as advertised, and am happy so far with my purchase. Did not give 5 stars because of limited use. Will update rating (or lower it) once I have spent more time with these units.

So far so good.

I am using this controller with two other receivers with my D750 and SB800 flash units. While I am still learning the best ways of using them the overall impression is very positive. Very quickly to setup and control separate flash units. Like how small they are. The only wish is for a storage container of some sort. So far keeping them in the provided bubble wrap baggies. Was happy to learn they take regular AA batteries and so far seem to last and last.

Excellent product for the money

By BILL L.

After testing my i-TTL Yongnuo I have decided it's as good as connecting my flash directly to my camera. I don't know how they do it, but it just works great. I tested High Speed Sync at full speed with flash on camera and flash mounted to the Yongnuo. Both photos were the same.

Offering a fantastic blend of affordability, features, and build quality, Yongnuo's line of speedlights and flash accessories offer enormous creative potential. This particular wireless flash controller has an LCD menu for you to monitor controls, settings, and light readings for each shot, as well as a test button, controls for zoom, and more.

The unit supports mixed use of up to three flash groups using i-TTL, manual, or super-sync flash modes, and it can make adjustments to the exposure compensation or flash output of each group as well. In addition to these control features, it supports different focal lengths for up to three groupings while utilizing an AF-assist beam emitter.

The relatively high sync speed will add an extra dimension to your shots, allowing you to shoot at higher shutter speeds without limiting yourself to natural lighting and letting you make the most of any scene, anywhere. The maximum sync speed is 1/250 sec, with first and second curtain shutter synchronization, plus exposure compensation support and flash value lock and even red-eye reduction flash. And to keep you from hunting for the sweet spot the next time you need to properly illuminate a scene, all your settings can be automatically saved and recalled in the unit's built-in memory.

  • SuperSync allows sync speeds up to 1/8000 sec
