(Purchased from Best Buy)  Super value priced for use in my office two-channel music system.  Program sources are Apple AirPlay streaming, HEOS, Internet radio, FM and occasionally audio CDs.  Blue tooth capability will be a back-up to Apple Airplay.  After brief burn-in, I am very pleased with my choice.  I have set the tone profile to Pure Direct.  This is not a top-end receiver, but it is also priced at 1/20 the cost of a McIntosh receiver.  As a value proposition, it does the job - admirably.

Fantastic sound

I purchased the amplifier for my home entertainment to go with my older Denon speakers and allow an HDMI link to a Roku and Apple streaming system. The installation was a breeze and the sound is amazing.

Best Amplifier for a top system

The amp is equally important as the speakers. When my older stereo amp died, i bpught this unit to replace it, and i have fallen in love with my music collection all over again. I was missing the details that the Dolby PL II was pushing out to my Klipsch reference speakers to a 5:1 configuration.  Regardless if you are a novice or a music audiofile, you won't be disappointed.  Im reminded that you get what you pay for, and this receiver is worth the extra few bucks.

Amazing sound, what you'd expect from a Denon

The directions for setting up could have been better.  A paper manual would also help.

Incredibly easy to set up. The ability to run two subwoofers is a great feature. I love the direct rca plugs for a phonograph. Excellent unit for any audiophiles!

AVR-S660H Receiver

I have been living with the S660h for 8 months. Liked all the conveniences of HDMI CEC, Audyssey, HEOS w/AMAZON MUSIC HD, superb TV audio processing, but thought I could do better with another amp for 2.1 music listening. Bought a Marantz integrated. Music was incrementally better but the overall experience is much better with the S660H. I returned the Marantz. I'm convinced the S660H defines the budget hi-fi receiver.

Versatile Value Champion

I heard about Denon from a friend about 20 plus years ago. At the time I had an AV surround sound receiver and refused to change. I tried this unit above and now I can understand how much better and clearer the sound is. With WiFi and Bluetooth, the Denon apps and the Heros, I'm hooked. My skeptic wife, now love to watch ball games and movies in my Man Cave.

My AV Receiver Upgrade

This has all the necessary tech to allow your next gen consoles to perform to their full potential (assuming you have a compatible TV). Paired with a basic set of Klipsch reference speakers, it makes a decent home theater setup in 5.1. Bluetooth functionality and HEOS rounds out a better than average feature set for an entry level AVR.  Very happy with both Denon receivers I own.

Perfect companion for next gen consoles.

I never got my surround speakers to play correctly with my Sony receiver. The Denon is PERFECT. The sound is incredible and very well balanced.... excellent purchase....

My review is for the new not refurbished model. It is very good. Has phono input, easy to adjust/calibrate a/v speakers with mic which is included, sound is great, works with wifi/bluetooth so it can be controlled from my iphone, can stream songs from iphone playlist, has rca, hdmi iplus optical inputs, decent amount of different sound options, free shipping via UPS, and must say outstanding customer service bcuz when you call you actually speak to a representative with short hold times. Highly recommend Denon!!!

Denon A/V Receiver

The price of this refurbished receiver was very reasonable. It arrived early, without visible blemishes, and undamaged. Following the owner's manual, which I downloaded online, setup was relatively easy. I believe I have checked all functions relevant to my needs and, after two weeks, it is working like a brand new unit. I could not ask for more.

Refurbished Unit Works Like New

Shipping was pretty bad, went to the wrong address twice and said it was delivered before it was. However, the AV Receiver itself is incredible for the price. Best bang for your buck with HDMI 2.1 passthrough. Would recommend to anyone, especially those with next gen gaming.

Bad Shipping, Fantastic Receiver

I love the features and performance with one caveat. The level through the phono input with my Technics SL1200 Mk2 turntable with a Shure high end MM cartridge requires me to turn the main volume up twice as much as on other inputs. I have the source level at +12db on the phono input setting. Hence the 4 star rating.

Happy but...

I am so happy I finally did this.  I'm going to name drop here, I've had a Yamaha receiver for quite some time now and have never been 100% pleased with it.  I bought a full Kef 7.1 system with that Yamaha and felt like it was never good enough for the money I paid.  We moved and went to a 5.1 with the same speakers and finally I decided I was trying a new receiver.  INSTANTLY noticed a difference with this Denon. Movies are twice as good now,  and we can understand what people are saying! Most likely thanks to the dialog enhancer.  I went with Denon because I'm so pleased with the HEOS soundbar/subwoofer I have in the living room.   I don't know how receivers work exactly, but it just feels like there's more power going to my speakers? Or it sounds like I got a big upgrade in speakers if that makes sense? Whatever it is I should've done it 2+ years ago when I had the 7.1 for sure.  #Denonforlife

It absolutely kicks! I replaced a Yamaha unit and it was night versus day. Don?t be afraid of factory refurb, it?s worth it!

My first AVR after decades of 2 channel receivers. Works well. Haven't tried Audyssey yet.
I don't use all the features but it is nice to be able to do FM radio, streaming music & TV with this unit. Easy set up.

AVR-S660H

Very pleased with this receiver. Sound quality is so much better than the Sony it replaced.

Demon receiver is amazing!

Paired with a 5.1 set of Klipsch speakers this system really does sound great.  Took some time to get it to force music to all the speakers but using the HEOS app did the trick.  I've connected mine to the network with ethernet and all connecting functions are way faster than expected and even wakes/turns on remotely from music apps.  Overall very pleased and would buy again.

Solid system and happy buyer

This 5.1 system is top notch. It has all of the features that I needed and then some. Super easy install, basically plug and play. My only real comment would be once I had it installed if I turned the volume up, to where I would describe it as beginning to be loud, the unit would begin flashing a red light every .5 sec and shut down. Per the manual this was a speaker protection so I checked my speaker wiring, replaced 1 questionable wire and restripped all the others. But the same thing kept happening. I finally discovered the solution which was going into the Setup > Speakers > Manual Setup > Levels > Test Tone Start. There all of the speakers were set, by default, to 0 Db. I turned all of them up to 8Db or greater basing them on balancing out the speakers. I have not had any issues since then. I don't know for certain but believe this is similar to turning up the gain and keeps the amp from working so hard. I could be wrong on that point but I hope this helps others that are experiencing this issue. Also maybe Denon could change the default settings from the factory.

How I Corrected Speaker Protection Flashing Light

I'm very much enjoying this receiver. I have a two speaker setup: L/R. I configure the phantom center at "Low" which works very well. I also have it set up for "Music" no matter what I'm watching. The sound is very clean. The BT works very well, and am just getting into the HEOS. All-in-all, I'm very happy with my purchase.

Sounds good fairly easy to set up but after 28 years my old stereo quit so it took time and use of phone to ask what to do but its very nice and easy to use

Simple ordering process and insane delivery! The unit was very easy to set up right out of the box.

Simple to setup, simple to use, and amazing to listen to! Not very experienced to be able to give feedback on the technical side of things, but as a first time buyer, I haven't had any complaints so far!

Great purchase

Easy setup of the unit. I am not an audiophile, but do appreciate this units capabilities. I have yet to set it up in a surround sound setup, but that will follow. Overall, very pleased with the number of inputs on this unit. I do wish that I could control my TV's power on and off with the remote. May need to do some investigation into this.
