Review of M3 laptop

I upgraded from a late 2016 15-inch Intel MacBook Pro. The M3 is orders of magnitude faster and never seems to break a sweat. Beautiful chassis is significantly thicker, but the length and width are only slightly larger - much of the increase in screen size is thanks to the smaller bezel. So far, the notch doesn't bother me at all.

The keyboard is better in every way. softer and springier with greater key travel, and much, much quieter.

I found the Touch Bar on the Intel model to be useful in certain cases, in particular the autosuggestions it provided as I typed. I haven't spent that much time writing on the M3, but so far I'd say I make fewer typos thanks to the better keyboard, and that may make up for the loss of the Touch Bar.

The speakers? my oh my, they are astonishing. They do (unsurprisingly) lack thump in the lowest end of the frequency range, but otherwise they are amazingly clear and balanced, with superb presence and soundstage? especially on tracks with Dolby Atmos.

Fantastic upgrade from Intel

This is my second MacBook Pro and I thought the last one was fast! This is lightning in a bottle! Boots up the the desktop in seconds and is super fast. I love having the Touch ID and it's very user friendly. The only caveat is, if you have older software that you want to migrate to this new laptop, you'll have to update to the latest software because the new M3s run a 64 bit OS and unless your software works in 64 bit, it won't work on this machine. Sales support from Adorama was excellent and they shipped nice and fast. I'm a very happy new MacBook owner!
