I ordered a new Canon LP-E8 battery. Charged it as instructed. Took six photos and the battery was dead. I paid full price for a good battery and got a dud.

I bought this for my old Canon T2i. I shot over 900 shots without flash and it's still not drain yet. I bought generic brands in the past in addition to the original Canon battery that came with my camera and those generics just don't last! They burst after awhile. The original Canon battery was still in good shape except it started smelling burned so I had to toss it out. NO MORE GENERIC BRANDS!

Other make batteries are much cheaper, but actually more expensive in Long run. They never last as long as Canon. You get what you pay for.

This battery from Cannon is so much better than some of the alternatives made by other manufacturers. When the battery is getting near to being fully discharged, according to the indicator on the camera screen, it still enables you to shoot for quite a while with two bars on the indicator, even with one bar, whereas the alternatives made by other manufacturers die fairly shortly after the first indication the battery is nearly flat.

Is exactly like the one that came with my camera with lasted me 4 years. The 1st time I used it after fully charging my camera was a little slow but it seems to be working fine now.

The Canon LP-E8 Battery Pack, although it many cost a little more is dependable in that it lasts more than 50% longer than all the generics out there. Buy from a reputable and trustworthy dealer like Adorama. Don't find yourself with a dead battery in the middle of an important vacation or photo shoot. Remember, buy from adorama, and give each battery you buy a full charge before use.

I have several aftermarket batteries, which work fine, but what they don't do is accurately display their power state on the camera. So they appear to be fully charged by the display on the camera (my T3i) and then suddenly they show up as very low or just run out of juice. These Canon batteries actually show how much power remains which has kept me from running out of power when I need it. I sometimes shoot a lot of pictures, and a bit of video and using bigger, faster lenses with IS and autofocus can use up battery power, so having extra batteries that I can rely on is great.

I own three Canon LP-E8's, and had two aftermarket batteries but now they won't charge. Decided to pay more money and have a long-lasting and reliable Canon brand. Canon batteries keep their charge, and give you many more shots than the specifications claim.

I purchased an aftermarket BAttery for my T3i. It turned out to be a big mistake. It was much cheaper than the Canon OEM but just never held a charge the was OEM batteries do. Don't make the same mistake I did. The Canon Battery is the best option. I tried to save a couple bucks and ended up paying twice.

I always buy canon brand batteries after I had a bad experience with the knock-off cheaper ones on a photo shoot.. the old saying you get what you pay for is true.The knock off's are not delivering the correct voltage and amps and will damage your expensive gear.. spend a little more and get consistent results.

I received one of these and an off brand when I purchased my Canon T3i a couple of years ago. The Canon battery pack is still working great and the off brand is dead.

I've just started using the batteries that I purchased and haven't had any problems with them. Using them alot for my photo class. So far, they're lasting longer than the one I replaced.

I needed a spare battery for my Canon Camera and bought the Canon LP-E8.This is the same battery that came with my T3i.It is nice to have a back up and Canon batteries are the best.Do not bother with a knock off brand because they will not last as long as the Canon.

Picked this up as a back-up battery for my Rebel T4i. One fully-charged battery (usually) lasts me through my shoot, but it's peace of mind to have a spare just in case. Exact same model as shipped with the camera in the first place, so it fits and holds charge just like you would expect.

I bought this as the second battery for my battery grip. I decided to trust canon because all other brands I saw had mixed reviews. It was slightly different from the original battery I had for the camera but has worked great with no problems.

i got one of the cheaper brand's version of this battery and after a few months the charge didn't hold for more then 10 minutes and it eventually imploded/expanded inside of my camera. it was stuck in there for a bit and was difficult to get out. ever since then, i decided to only get the canon batteries for my canon camera
