Super great computer! I like the form factor and small space allocated! Besides, the coupling with the Mac Display is simply beautiful!

This computer is absolutely perfect for our needs. It will actually allow us to expand what we are currently able to do. We primarily use this computer to run our media for our Sunday services. Now we will be able to handle all of our live streaming and recording on this same computer. This computer is more than powerful enough to handle all of these tasks and more.

I bought this to replace my 2012 Mac Pro that sadly was EOL'd by Apple. The product arrived promptly & very well packaged by Adorama. Migration from my old Cheese Grater to the Mac Studio over ethernet went smoothly, albeit a bit slowly. I found no need for Firewire to USB-C adapters. One cautionary note about the migration; you may find that some of your older programs don't work (I think it has to do with dropping 32 bit support). You may want to check your older software for compatibility before you press that buy button. For me, the biggest loss was being unable to use my trusty MS Office 2008. I'm philosophically opposed to the software subscription model, so it's Pages & Numbers on my new machine instead of Office 365. I haven't had a chance to push the limits of this machine yet but everything seems so much faster, program start-up, photo rendering, search operations, to name a few.

This is the Mac I've been hoping Apple would make for YEARS. It's like a pro version of a Mac Mini with plenty of ports, all in a slick looking body that belongs on a desk. It's a beast, yet it's very quiet. In fact, I haven't heard the fan kick in yet. Would I recommend a Mac Studio? ABSOLUTELY.

Performance is great and overall it's a great machine. I will say that the only downside is that it does have an ambient noise to it. Apparently it's the fans and it somewhat high pitched but certainly audible. Overall it's not terrible but 100% not silent so if you are in a pretty quiet area, you will notice it.

It?s exactly as described. Nice little computer, does everything I want and very fast and responsive. The way I have used it so far doesn?t do justice to its capabilities. I probably would have been perfectly happy with a Mac Mini with 32GB of RAM, but that doesn?t exist and this was the closest thing.

Google for my full review. It took a week to get my Mac Pro stuff transferred to the Studio, and to get the Studio properly configured. Apple support was useless--did not know what mounting a disk meant. Nor could they help me figuring out how to not do the migration over WiFi. All the ports are used up now, and I had to buy several USB hubs. Be sure they do 10 Gbps transfers, at least USB 3.1. I also had to spend $1000 to get an OWC ThunderBay Flex 8 Thunderbolt enclosure to house my (so far) 5 internal drives that I transferred from my Mac Pro. I also have 3 external USB drives plugged into those fast USB ports. I also had to buy a Pioneer BlueRay DVD drive to install old software https://www.adorama.com/pibdrxs07s.html Be warned that Apple Silicon does not allow virtualization, so my Parallels 17 and Windows 11 ARM beta will not support subsystems for Android or Linux.

Perhaps you all should wait until a product is received, maybe 10-12 weeks from now, before asking for reviews and rating your performance.

This replaced a 2015 iMac 27". Everything that I have tested so far is faster. It definitely is much quieter and does not get nearly as warm. Also definitely uses much less power according to my power meter about half so far. Finally an M1 Mac with enough ports. Was waiting for the new Mac mini but I think the Mac studio should probably be able to run faster due to its better cooling capability. Also no guarantee that the new Mac mini will have enough ports or be available in a timely manner so decided to get the studio to become my main desk top. Very happy so far

I love this thing. It?s likely overkill for what I actually need but if you are looking for something you need you wouldn?t be looking at this!

Mac Studio

Super great computer! I like the form factor and small space allocated! Besides, the coupling with the Mac Display is simply beautiful!
Apple's silicon is so powerful and efficient that it has completely reimagined the vision of a powerful desktop computer. Mac Studio's design philosophy is to let the M1 Max run completely unrestrained — with the smallest footprint possible. Feature-rich power and connectivity are at your fingertips right on your desk thanks to its perfect fit under most displays.
M1 Max
Whether it is multitasking, photo editing, recording and mixing professional-quality music, video editing, post audio, or VFX work, the M1 Max is capable of tackling any challenge. Moreover, it boasts up to 2.5x faster CPU, up to 3.4x faster GPU, and up to 2.2x faster machine learning performance.
NEW M1 Ultra
The M1 Ultra from Apple is a combination of two M1 Max chips fused together to form a single powerful processor. The result is a chip with double the CPU cores, memory bandwidth, and, most importantly, double the GPU cores.
There are 12 high-performance ports on the front and back of the Mac Studio for connecting cameras, external storage, and other devices. Plug in up to four Pro Display XDRs and one 4K TV to see the bigger picture. Additionally, there is a headphone jack with support for high-impedance headphones or a line out for amplified speakers. Additionally, there are 4x Thunderbolt 4 ports, 1x 10Gb Ethernet, 2x USB-A, and 1x HDMI ports. It has two USB-C or Thunderbolt ports on the front, along with an SDXC slot.
Extra Power Means Extra Cooling
M1 Ultra and M1 have the same 370W power supply. However, the M1 Ultra has a larger copper heatsink, whereas the M1 Max has an aluminum heatsinkt. The 7.7" square Mac Studio enclosure houses a revolutionary thermal system that allows the M1 Max to perform heavy workloads at lightning speed but remain whisper quiet.

The Studio Display is a highly advanced 5K Retina display measuring 27 inches diagonally and sports a refined aluminum enclosure resembling the design of the 24-inch iMac (2021). It’s essentially the younger, more affordable sibling to the Pro Display XDR.
