48 volts from PA output to microphone input (phantom power present regardless of input selected)
22kHz @ -75dBu sine wave on Hear Back output when footswitch pressed (oscillator powered from phantom power on the Hear Back output)
Because of its high-quality design and versatile functionality, the Hear Back PRO Intercom Footswitch by Hear Technologies is a reliable choice for professionals in the audio industry. This durable footswitch allows a single microphone to serve dual roles, acting as both a vocal microphone and an intercom microphone. This feature facilitates discreet communication with other band members or sound engineers during live performances or recording sessions.
The Intercom Footswitch is designed with a silent mute feature, ensuring the microphone signal going to the sound board is muted without any disruptive pops or clicks. The microphone signal is then directed to the Hear Back PRO Mixer, accompanied by a unique 22kHz signal. This signal, undetectable by the human ear, automatically engages the intercom feature on the Mixer (firmware v1.3 or higher).
The footswitch operates momentarily, meaning as long as you maintain pressure on the switch, the microphone will route to the intercom instead of the sound board. All outputs are transformer isolated from the microphone and each other, ensuring a clean, uninterrupted signal. The footswitch also includes a special phantom-power circuit, allowing the microphone to be powered from the sound board if required.
This user-friendly footswitch is also suitable for any application where an A/B momentary footswitch is needed. To ensure compatibility with the Intercom Footswitch, the Hear Back PRO Mixer must have at least Version 1.3 firmware or greater. The product comes with a comprehensive guide on how to check your Mixer's firmware version, upgrade the firmware if necessary, and enable the Intercom Footswitch feature.
Once enabled, the Intercom Footswitch feature transforms the AUX input into a dedicated Intercom Footswitch input. This allows the Mixer to monitor the incoming signal and detect when the footswitch is pressed. The input gain of the footswitch can be controlled using the MASTER knob, ensuring optimal sensitivity and preventing unintentional broadcasting.
In summary, the Hear Back PRO Intercom Footswitch is a versatile, high-quality, and reliable choice for professionals seeking to enhance their audio setup. Its user-friendly design and advanced features make it a standout choice in the market.
