One of the worst decisions I've ever made is to purchase this hp printer, I tried returning it and the customer service was undoubtedly terrible on every level that you can imagine. Never again

Cannot control print lightness, darkness or do printhead maintenance of any kind. That feature has been completely removed from all menus and in printer properties! Printing really wets the paper with ink and prints, especially colored prints are over inked. Intant ink calculates a whole page for just an extra line of text. Printer tray is flimsy. You have to open the printer to get the PIN for any kinf of information through HP Smart. the printer egisters a cartige change every time you open it for the PIN. HP Smart is anything but Smart. It's dumb and insulting to someone who wants the option of having even minimal control over print quality and maintenance. Calling it an All in One is a strech. Buyer beware. Website acount, my devices doesnt work properly. Even if I were interested in a better printer, I'm not anymore.

Print quality isn't great. I paid a certain price, the next day it was lower, contacted HP and the refunded me the difference right away.

It did not print

At tax deadline time, my HP all in one 8139E which was only a few months old The document feeder completely stopped working so I couldn't scan anything in to send to my tax guy I contacted HP and after a couple of hours on the phone it was determined that They couldn't fix the problem. They sent me out a refurbished printer that only printed pink. I just didn't have the time to get the replacement and set it up. So I dealt with that until I was pulling my hair out. I decided to just purchase another printer instead of dealing with whatever they would send me next. It's been two months now and Ive got my new printer working finally. I had to set aside the time to return THREE printers up and down stairs. packing them up, taking them to the return centers. For some reason everything had to be input several times over the course of days to get it to hook up properly and work with my devices. I have now bought two HP printers within the course of several months. HP offered me a fractional refund wich I'm still waiting for. Way too much wasted time and frustration. 
I'm 60 years old. I started with an HP COMPUTER and PRINTER when computers first came out. I have been a loyal customer for 25 years but I'm so disappointed at all the the confusion and frustrated at the final results. I'm left to feel as tho being a loyal customer means nothing at all anymore. What was I thinking??

What was I thinking?

I had a great HP printer for years. With the windows 11 update HP disabled my driver and forced me to purchase a new printer. The new printer it's the most cumbersome I've experienced. The paper tray doesn't have a way of locking in the size and when it slips when you close the tray it detects a larger size paper. The printer cartridges don't like to stay in place they pop out. Unless you are using the HP smart app on your PC the features the printer is supposed to have are not accessible such as two-sided printing.. I'm very disappointed in the way HP is changing their way of doing business. The quality of this printer is nothing like my old one. There is a notable change in everything they are doing and it's very disheartening. HP used to be the best on the market

Lethargic printer. But it does a good job of printing.

Good basic AOI. Does NOT do full double sided like my previous OJ 6978. Does not do well on the network- I had to use usb. Had support problems. Supposed to have 1 year warranty and 3 months of instant ink. They gave me 7 months & 2 months. After 2 calls, the support person happily told me she was able to extend it to 1 year! Maybe a previously shipped system that was still in the system? Haven't resolved the network issue yet. Hopefully it goes away when I uninstall everything and reinstall without instant ink. Instant ink requires constant network connection to HP.

Forces to send print job to cloud just to return back yo your printer - a lengthy process depending on the speed of your internet connection, when it could be done instantly if printing locally. Printer driver isn't automatically uploaded to to your PC. You have to downloaded from website and with every use trying you are dodging the pop-up the the cloud print app is creating. HP driver sucks. I have an error since day one. Simply printing if bot an option. First you must power cycle, reset and burp the printer before it produces a printed page

Printer Driver is Buggy, Forces to use Slow Cloud Printing

I don't think I've ever felt the need to post a negative review and definitely have never encountered such poor service.

We received the printer less than a month ago.

Our first replacement ink via our instant ink subscription didn't arrive as promised and we ran out of ink. We were told by one HP agent we could not use the exact same HP cartridges from Staples while waiting for HP to get our cartridges to us, another agent told us that was incorrect information.

The printer shortly thereafter stopped printing properly and now is not printing at all from computer or phone, and each person we speak to tells us something different and/or can't help. 

We're waiting to have someone contact us that is to be able to rectify the problem and we've yet to hear. 

An inordinate amount of our time wasted, and disruption of business flow.

Glitchy Product, Poor Customer Service

Paper holding tray not very sturdy. Mly previous Off Jet Pro o8o710 was much easier to pull out. It also had a slide inside the new paper holder that pushed against the paper to hold it in place. The touch screen takes several touches to respond and open then it take more multiple taps to get to open copy finally (Took me 9 taps) then you have to open document or id card. This is irritating when I'm needing something fast. Not what I had hoped for. I have owned 4 or 5 hp printers so not my first time around with them. I like the smaller size and it seems to print fairly fast once it gets going. Would not recommend it.

Not up to HP standards

I love the looks of it. The set up was a bit difficult but managed it well.

The printer insists on providing only the "print from job storage" and "print photos" and refuses to print what is on my screen. I have tried all the suggested online solutions, grown tired of waiting for HP help, and now wish I had bought another brand of printer.

A Printer That refuses to Print

Disappointed. A little better than the Ebson that I bought and threw away since I couldn't return it. However, the instructions were really poor to get the HP OfficeJet Pro 8139e online. I hate that a lot of things have to be done on the computer screen. Did finally manage to have my local tech be able to come up with the way to scan from the computer. However some of the information that HP gives out is inadequate. Also in trying to get help from HP, apparently I ended up on a HP fake scan screen and I ended up with getting scammed and having to have my whole computer gone through to get rid of the scam which caused me to lose some of my forever programs that I couldn't get back.

I had had my previous HP printer for about 15 years and it had been fantastic. I keep fighting with this one and having to get continuous help from my local tech which is costing me a lot of additional money.

easy to buy and promptly delivered. Instructions are not worth throwing away. Online videos run rapidly through most printer functions. If I already understood how to do everything I WOULD NOT THE VIDEO. In short - also worthless.

At first I had issue with attaching cartridges but figured out. Print is clear and quick and glad that this printer has a fax attached.

Print and Fax Efficiency

The setup took a few days, several calls to hp to no avail; I eventually called my WiFi co., T Mobile to assist in setting up the proper WiFi to accommodate this printer. The hp customer service people could not help; after 4 calls, 27 minutes on hold & a dropped call (they did not call me back). Maybe bring your customer services people back to the US?? Ya think!?!?!

The machine is easy to setup and get internet conection. The one promlem i noticed in the stacking of the output. The paper does not stck properly and the catcher sometimes causes the paper to land on the floor. Not sure how to prevent this. Otherwise i like to machine.

Horrible setup, wasted about 4 hours trying to get it to work and never did. Boxed it up a took it back, don't waste your money or time on this model!!!
