Before you embark on your next astrophotography adventure, consider the high-quality H-Alpha H-Beta OIII (Ha-HB-OIII) Imaging Filter, specifically designed for the 8" RASA. This innovative filter is your key to capturing breathtaking, detailed images of the night sky, even from the confines of a light-polluted backyard. The advanced technology of this filter allows for high transmission of light from emission nebulae, effectively blocking light pollution. This results in images that burst with detail against a stark, contrasting black sky background. The filter strategically eliminates the impact of light pollution by blocking specific wavelengths, while allowing the beneficial wavelengths associated with emission nebulae to pass through to your camera. The Ha-HB-OIII Imaging Filter is perfect for imaging emission nebulae like the North America Nebula (NGC 7000), Lagoon Nebula (M8), Orion Nebula (M42), and the Carina Nebula (NGC 3372). It transmits key Ha-HB-OIII wavelengths that produce high contrast for emission nebulae, with a transmission spectrum of 85% or greater at key wavelengths (486nm, 496nm/501nm, 656nm) and less than 0.5% transmission elsewhere. This durable filter, made by Celestron, a reputable brand in the field of astronomy and optics, is a narrowband filter that blocks much of the visible spectrum, allowing only specific wavelengths through. It is custom-engineered to work at F/2, ensuring none of the beneficial light from the nebula is inadvertently blocked. The filter is housed in a machined aluminum black anodized cell with a knurled rim for easy installation. An anti-reflection coating has been added to suppress reflections on the glass. It fits directly into the internal filter mount in the RASA 8's front lens cell, maintaining the optical performance for the entire system. Each filter comes with a foam-lined plastic storage case and retaining ring for safe storage. A spectral transmission graph unique to your specific unit is also included, verifying its performance.
