Works well with my record player. But when connected to Bluetooth there is some static/crackling (even after grounding it,) which can be annoying if what I'm listening to isn't very loud. It gets pretty warm on the bottom as well, but that seems to be a normal thing. Otherwise, it was easy to connect and get started with and I am enjoying it overall

Pound for pound exactly what we were looking for. Entry level amp for TT paired with some speakers which we put the savings towards.

Onkyo continues to deliver great products

I bought this to pair with a couple Polk audio bookshelf & 10" subwoofer and the Audio-Technica AT-LP70XBT-BZ turntable.  It works very well and has decent enough sound for what I was wanting.  It's no where near Audiophile quality but neither is the rest of the setup.

Great product at a good price.  We had to replace an older Onkyo receiver that died.  We tried another product initially, but ended up returning it.  Then we found this Onkyo - it was in stock and was shipped very quickly.  Not a lot of bells and whistles but a great product none the less.  The bluetooth pairing was super easy.

Great Receiver for price

I purchased this TX-8220 to replace a unit that had been bumped hard on the volume potentiometer.  Onkyo seems to have a cleaner sound in mid and higher power range, and has the advantage that it can receive a Bluetooth input, which my older unit could not.  On a higher quality recording (some of what we get through the computer is very poor quality, and no good amplifier is going to make those sound better) through the Bluetooth input the sound is more than acceptable.  I'm feeding into a pair or two pairs of EV speakers, and am using the center channel for my bass, with a low frequency adjustable crossover.  I use this unit primarily with the remote control when I'm not playing from vinyl.  The unit I have is unfortunately with a black faced chassis, so I may even use the remote when right next to it just for reading adjustments more easily.  There are sufficient inputs and outputs that are conveniently spaced and labeled on the back plane for all the analogue devices I still use plus the newer digital units.  The audio feed from the TV is a very good way to get a better quality sound than was available from the TV sound bar.
    This unit is used in a very tall living room that is open to a hall and adjacent dining room and an open loft.  Sufficient power  to have comfortable sound with much power room to spare.
