Tiffen W77IRND21 77mm Filter

Did a test shot. WB set to sun. Focus set to manual. Aperture set to f/16. ISO set to 200. Mounted on tripod with shutter release cable. No filter - the shutter speed was 1/30 sec. With filter, shutter speed 2.5 seconds. Approx 6x exposure time, which matches advertised ratio of 1:128. HOWEVER, the shot with the filter had a decided greenish-aqua color cast. This color cast can be removed easily in post processing.

Why settle for less when you can have the best of both worlds The Tiffen 4.5" Round IR Infrared ND Neutral Density 2.1, (7-Stops) Filter is a versatile and high-quality solution for photographers seeking to enhance their image quality and control exposure values. This durable filter combines the power of infrared attenuation with the precision of solid neutral density, offering a comprehensive solution for your photography needs.

The neutral density aspect of this filter provides a 7-stop exposure reduction, enabling you to work with longer shutter speeds or wider aperture settings, even in bright lighting conditions. This feature is particularly useful for photographers aiming to capture motion blur or reduce depth of field in their shots.

The infrared component of the Tiffen 4.5" Round IR Infrared ND Neutral Density 2.1, (7-Stops) Filter effectively attenuates infrared wavelengths above 700nm. This is a crucial feature for those working with CCD and CMOS sensors, as it helps prevent infrared pollution that can negatively impact color balance under challenging lighting conditions.

What sets this filter apart is its IR design, which works proportionately to the density value. This means you can achieve consistently neutral results across varying lighting conditions, enhancing the versatility and reliability of this filter.

Constructed from water white optical glass, this filter leverages Tiffen's ColorCore technology to maintain clarity and quality in your images. With a diameter of 4.5", it is suitable for use in select matte boxes and sunshades, making it a valuable addition to any photographer's toolkit. Experience the difference with the Tiffen 4.5" Round IR Infrared ND Neutral Density 2.1, (7-Stops) Filter.
