I got this to replace a Pearstone arm I was using with an attached spud. It was problematic for a number of reasons. But this thing is a tank; it holds like crazy and I love the tightening knob...perfect size for me. Worth it!!

I confess that I’m a hard-core monitor freak. In addition to my cherished Gratical viewfinder, my camera usually has a pricey 7” SmallHD or an Atomos Shogun Inferno monitor/recorder attached to it. When I first bought Zacuto’s Zamerican V3 large articulated arm, I assumed that like my other rigging tools, there would be a leaning curve or trial and error scenario. Having used and been frustrated by other articulated arms, I have never looked back after getting my Zamerican V3 large arm. No matter how you rig it – for studio work or run and gun shooting; for lighting, monitoring, or rigging an onboard digital recorder - it is solid as a rock, and, once locked down, will not shift. Best of all, when your client needs to take a look at a shot on the monitor, repositioning the arm it is fast and efficient. It’s an essential component of any DP’s kit.

I love this device as it has ball joint on both ends. We started with the silver Z-arm that only 1 ball joint on one end. With 2 ball joints, one on each end you have so many more more variations of mounting options. We use it for monitors, sound recorders and even cue cars for talent to read their lines! The red knobs securely locks this device in place un-like the 1/4 20 friction arms that are always unlocking and turning. On one occasion one of our cameras came off the quick release plate and I caught and save a fully rigged camera by this z-arm without the arm even moving...Amazing Arm

Zamerican V3 Small 6 inch articulating arm is 20% lighter than first articulating arm. It is made with chrome balls for silk movement, aluminum ends for rust reduction and stainless steel to increase strength and reduce bulk.
It is built with Z-Release, giving you built-in quick release action using Zacuto's new Z-lock technology. Accessories install and remove with the flip of a lever. No more screwing and un-screwing and no more coming loose. Zamerican arms can be extended using Zacuto male rod extensions making articulating arms any length you want them to be. Zamerican arms require a Z-Release (quick-release) mount on each end of the arm.
