Solid Boom. Good weight distribution. Using it with a baby drop down pin and Profoto D1 with 3' octa. Handles the weight well.

I have two of these for quick setups. I use two beefy baby stands to support the key light and the back light. The first impression of this stand was wow. It is made as well as any of my Mathew's sands that I use. This is really a quality arm. The boom arm will work with smaller light stands but you can't put heavy lights on them. I use a small 5lb or a 10lb. weightlifting plate to counter support the arm. I attach a cord and the arm has a hook on the counter support side that you can hang a weight from. It works very well. I have moved from tungsten lights to LED lights and love it. It can support all the lights I need without a problem. These arms have become my quick go to interview setup that clients now ask for. You could use C-stand but make sure you have a sand bag. The base of the C-stands is not as wide as light stands. I highly recommend this arm to anyone who is in the market for for a boom arm.

this boom arm is very solid. when it fully extended with a 6lbs monolight and a big modifier at the end, it doesn't flex

This thing is a beast. Strong, sturdy. Suggested to purchase a matching stand with it. I am using a medium weight 9.5 and while it is seems strong enough it is not a match to take on location

I have tried a couple of booms with limited success, then I purchased the Avenger Mini Boom. There is nothing to call mini about it, it is longer than most out there. It is by far strong enough to handle any studio light that I have encountered in many years. It is built of steel with thick collars and a large grip that is capable of holding about 22 pounds fully extended.

Most will complain it is heavy but that is why I bought it so it will last! I take this on location everywhere. High quality and dependable.

Great for adjusting lighting setups, but I expected the "mini" boom to be a little lighter. It's my own lack of research and attention to detail in this case, however, that led to this mistake. The product is fantastic and will hold any number of modifiers, from small to pretty large octas. Recommended for location work especially when you need to turn that light stand into a more adjustable light source.

I use this in a studio with Elinchrom 500 monolights and have had a 53" octa on it with good results... Make sure you sandbag your C Stand! Great value for the price, so far it performs as expected.
