I'm selling my Nikon D800 and 18-35mm Nikon lens. I bought a Nikon D500 and I wanted a light weight high quality wide angle lens that would not break my budget. The Nikon 10-24 costs twice as much and with Tamron's sale price that was an even better deal.

Great image quality, though the lens hood does vignette a bit at the 10mm end. Love this for landscapes, and also works for some close-up semi-macro shots.

The lens is a great addition for my Canon T4i. I am now carrying only it and my 40mm pancake when walking around or attending outdoor events (non-sporting). The lens focuses fairly quickly and accurately. The speed is acceptable for candids of folks in a crowd (I used it at our office party a few nights ago and everyone loves the pictures I took). I am really enjoying the ability to take pictures of a whole interior of a room and also able to zoom in to a small group of folks in a single lens.

I purchased this lens primarily for use in my business as a Realtor. I love wide angle shots for showing the whole room in my listings. This lens is perfect for the price. I noticed some softness / blurring in the extreme edges when used at 10mm. Not sure if my skills (lighting) could improve to overcome this. I don't know if the Nikkor would do any better, as other wide lenses I've used have this same phenomenon. I DO know that this lens is just what I needed and at nearly 1/2 the price of the Nikkor (purchased used from Adorama) I also LOVE adorama's used equip grading system. This one had an "E" rating, but looks new to me!

I am new to shooting wide angle and the Tamron 10-24 seems to fit what I need. Most of my shooting is landscape and architecture and so far I am happy with the performance and build quality of this lens. The autofocus at close range can be a bit sluggish and noisy which may be a function of this wide of a lens. Finding a great lens at a fair price can be difficult and so far I am very happy.

This lens solved many of my photography problems. On some days I don't even take the lens off my camera. I might shoot 3 or 4 hundred shots. It is compact and has a very high useablitly. The only I would give up this lens if it was replaced with a brand new one with latest innovations.

Bought this for a trip to Sedona Az to compare with the Tokina 11-16. The Tamron has a longer zoom range which is nice and is lighter in weight but I preferred the build quality of the Tokina. Tokina also has a new 12-24 which I'll try before deciding. The Nikon 10-24 is also a great lens with the widest range but is $300 more than the other choices. The Tamron is going back.

I use this lens for landscapes, group photos and street scenes. It works well for all of these situations. It and my Tamron 18-270 are the only lens I need.

Corner softness is acceptable, as well as chromatic aberration. Fast and accurate focus. Considering the price and the solid construction, it's the best lens around in this price range.

Purchased this lense for a Canon 7D. A decent no frills lense for the price. Some distortion in 22-24mm end of range, but not bad for the price. A fun lense that produced some nice wide angle, full room shots. Wide angle lenses generally pick up extraneious fingers and straps easily, so be careful when composing shots. Canon lenses are generally preferable, but more expensive. Switched out the Tiffen kit filter with a better Hoya 77mm filter. Would overall recommend this lense unless you are a high end photographer with high expectations.

Mostly used in landscape and architecture shots; not too many so far only had it about 3 weeks. So far little distortion (expected in this wide angle) in the corners, very good color rendition; focusses fairly fast with Sony a77.

Using this lens for real estate photography, interior, exterior and pans. Works great with my 7D and speedlites. Distortion can be an issue simply because it is a wide angle lens, but not a fault of Tamron design as such.

I have used this lens for almost two years. It is a good all around lens in this area. Ultra wide open without being a fish eyed lens is a difficult category so it is not going to look like a 35mm prime lens. You will wish it was sharper as it goes out from center. The sharpness drops off drastically while zoomed in. I have seen best results at 10-12mm at F 6.3 for an overall good picture. It does not match up to the Pentax 12-24mm and don't kid yourself that you are getting the same thing. I rented the Pentax and took about 1500 photos and it is obviously a better lens. You get what you pay for and this is a good lens but it is not the best lens. it is worth the money but not a professional lens. You have to hold it level at all times or you lose it's ability to not go fish eyed on you. This is a good lens and does a nice job.

I purchased this lens for a one time use, thinking it would work fine for one particular purpose. I arrived at my location and began making test exposures, I found them to be surprisingly clean, good focus accuracy, sharp in the center, small fall-off at the edges and a great zoom range for this focal length. Being this lens is about 30% less than the Canon brand, I expected less. It is a little slower to focus, it is really not as sharp wide open as I would have liked, but stopped down to F8 it's excellent. On a full frame sensor it's going to produce circular images but zoom out enough to get full coverage and you are probably at about 14 mm. This may not sound like a lot but it's significantly wider than the 17mm side of my 17-40. On a APC sensor, you get full coverage. The downside is that Lightroom does not have a profile for this lens as it does for the Sigma or the full lineup of Canon lenses. Certainly a "speciality" lens, for this price it's cheaper than renting the Canon equivalent a few times. I will keep it and it has earned a place in my camera bag next to my 17-40L.

This is a very good lens for the money if used with a little care, another words shoot it stopped down and avoid the longest focal lengths which since I only use it for landscape shots it's works great for me. The autofocus is a bit slow but in this case it's really not an issue in real-world use; after all this lens is probably not going to be the first choice for a sports and action photographer. One other thing is and this is just me but the wide diameter lens hood takes up lots of space in a bag. Botton line is if you doing landscape work you will be very happy with this lens like me.

I bought this lens for my wife... we like to travel and take hikes and landscape photography... the colors are wonderful and the space you can cover with it is amazing. I love the features in it and with my canon 5d works perfectly.

Bought it for group shots. Don't like it for that. Subjects on the ends are very distorted. Does awsome landscape shots.

My wife and I were on vacation in Curacao and a very large cargo ship was entering the port of Willemstad, while everyone else was trying to get far enough back to get even half the ship into a single photo, I was able to stand next to the sea wall and not only get the entire ship, but also the Tug boats guiding it into an incredible photo. I bought the lens specifically for capturing landscape photos on that vacation and it became the work hourse of all my lens on that trip....best money spent.

This is my first Tamron lens purchase. I have all" L" lenses for my Canon 7D, some of them purchased used from Adorama. I got this lens refurbished from Adorama and am very pleased with its performance, and the price was quite reasonable. Adorama is a an excellent company, professional yet friendly.

THIS LENS IS FOR CROPPED SENSORS ONLY AND CANNOT BE USED ON FULL FRAME CAMERAS...WHILE IT IS GENERALLY SHARP IT IS FAR FROM "TACK SHARP" AND WILL SHOW SOME DISTORTION ON CLOSE UP SHOTS...AT NORMAL RANGE IT IS FINE...JUST CAME BACK FROM PAGE,AZ AND SPENT THREE DAYS SHOOTING THE ANTELOPE CANYONS...ANY BAD SHOTS WERE STRICTLY MY FAULT AND NOT THE LENS...DUE TO THE LOW LIGHT LEVELS I WAS ON MANUAL MODE ALL THE TIME AND AUTO FOCUS HAD A TENDENCY TO HUNT...TOOK OVER 500 SHOTS AT DIFFERENT EXPOSURES AND F-STOPS AND OVER 90% WERE WITH THIS LENS...MY BEST SHOT WAS A CANYON SUNBEAM SHOT USING THE HDR FUNCTION ON MY SONY A580...IT CONSISTED OF 3-8 SECOND SHOTS @ F-16 AND ISO 800...THE COLORS AND HIGHLIGHTS ARE FANTASTIC... NO ULTRAWIDE LENSES THAT FITS SONY ALPHA CAMERAS ARE PERFECT BUT I THINK THIS IS THE BEST OF THE BUNCH...

Chances are if you bought your first interchangeable-lens camera, a DSLR or MILC, you got a mid-range zoom "kit" lens. For a while things were good, but then you became frustrated with the lens's limits.

This is a very sharp lens that feels great in the hands while in use. Price is good for what you get compared to Canon lens. I own several Tamrons and all of them are a great value.
