The description of the lens is not what I got I didn't get the lens with the AE chip it's just a regular lens I don't know if panorama conscious of what they sending people most of the used parts are either dirty unmanageable to use or I have to send back.

I love it! At first it was a bit difficult to get used to a full manual lens, but it gets easier after some research for tips and practice. It is a heavy lens and a bit large, but you'll forget all about that after you see the photos you can create with it!

There are many onlinereviews for this lens, and most of them will tell you the truth: this lens is a bargain! Great sharpness even at F1.4 and the bokeh is georgeus. Only downside: its hard to snap precise focus when shooting manually, but unless you are a pixel peeper, it won´t matter.

recently got a GH4 and thought this lens would be a good economic choice. However the image coming through my camera was blown up like crazy, like really zoomed in. Turns out this lens is actually full frame, which is larger than the micro 4/3 sensor on the GH4, thus cropping my image and making it looked zoomed in. I'm new to cameras so maybe that's why this happened but watch out. Great lens though

Not satisfied. I was under impression this lens would be similar to canon 100 mm. I take a number of macro pics and this lens is disappointing.

From the very 1st shot I took (boring eall/rooftop pic), my mouth dropped. I could NOT believe the clarity. I had hesitated SO much buying this lens and had originally SO wanted a 85mm Sigma Art lens. But, because I had just purchased the Tamron 80-200 g2 and 24-70 g2. I could not justify another $ .but yet wanting all the benefits of a fast f1.4 and 85mm focal range. So, I risked the purchase and as of today, have no regrets. Build quality (so far) is very nice. Somewhat still a LONG focal spin to get subject into focus (fast moving objects? HA!!! forget it. This is a take your time, focus VERY WELL and snap the shot, lens. If it had auto focus at this price point or $100 max, more, I would love it and buy it!!

This lens is spot on. It is a little on the top heavy side but reacts instantly and accurately with excellent sharpness, speed and of course image quality.

This is a great lens for the price. It is very easy to focus and even at f1.4 seems to be very sharp.

Great shallow depth of field. Colors a little on the warm side. Fantastic resolution if you get the focus right. A little prone to flare if you don't use the hood outside.

Let me start off with i absolutely love this lens! This is the first manual focus len I've ever purchased so i wasn't sure how is was going to perform with such a small aperture. The result is amazing. This lens is very sharp and can we say bokeh bokeh and more bokeh. I use this len on my sony a6000 which helps to manually focus using focus peaking and focus magnification. Cant help but to love it! The lens itself is a solid build with a bit of weight to it

This is a very nice lens for the money with it's shallow depth of field. I use it on my fuji xt1. Wide open, it's a bit soft but when you get to f2.8 it begins to get sharper and so on. Hitting a moving target is difficult. With practice you can do it but I wouldn't bank on this lens for delivering that money shot unless you really know what you're doing. Wow.... what did we do before automatic lenses..... lol. Other than being soft wide open the lens doesn't fit as tight as my 12mm f2.0 samyang lens on my fuji x-t1. It has a little play in it.but I haven't notice if it effects the quality. If your shooting portraits and looking to save a ton of money, yet deliver a very good product. You can do it with this lens for a fraction of the price of an automatic lens.

As an amateur photographer looking to perfect my portrait and landscape photography skills, I can honestly say that this manual lens is the best I've used considering the price. This is one of the best manual lenses for my Samsung nx300 as not many f/1.4 lenses are available. I can easily adjust the focus ring for the perfect aperture pertaining to my surroundings and natural lighting. I find that this lens is the easiest to learn manual for beginners like myself. The full frame compatibility is also a nice addition to this lens. The quality and sharpness is refreshing to use compared to my other 80-200 mm f4 lens. Overall, I would recommend this lens to anyone looking for a great lens to learn manual and hobbyists looking to improve their photography for a great price.

This lens provides beautiful images for a great price. Sharpness is usable wide open and excellent at 2.8 and above. My only complaints are higher than expected lateral chromatic aberration (green/magenta fringed bokeh) when shooting at 1.4 and 1.8, and I wish it could focus just a little closer. Otherwise it is a pleasure to shoot with my A7R II using focus peaking and focus magnification aids. Btw, the lens mount is listed as APC-C, but this lens is perfectly full frame compatible.

I read so many good reviews about this lens that I had to give it a try. This lens is wicked sharp from edge to edge at F2.0 but it still is very sharp at f1.4 too. The bokeh is dreamy and the color rendition is very good too. I'm so glad I went for this instead of the Olympus version which double the cost. The only downside is the focus assist (peaking) on the Em5 II does not work since there are no electronic contacts. Still a great lens.

I like taking pictures of birds. In Oregon winter light is always scarce, so I thought I could give a little to get a few late pics. BAD IDEA. This, I imagine, is a good portrait lens for functions and pics of friends. The 85mm (~127mm crop factor) is cool so you don't cramp your subject. The F1.4 is cool so you don't usually need a flash. The "bokeh" is not complex so it doesn't distract from the subject matter. It hides blemishes and other imperfections (and most of the detail) from 4 to 34 feet away (after that it's usefulness is negligible, before that it IS useless). All in all a great social media or wedding or party crashing (concert) lens. By the way, depth of field feels the same at F/1.4 and F/14 (almost nil). This is the one you want if you just want to keep on rokinon!

The Rokinon 85mm 1.4 lens is more versatile than I expected. I have been pleased with portrait shots at apertures from 1.4 to 5.6, and the bokeh at the wider settings is great. Manual focus has not been an issue of concern using either eyesight through the viewfinder or the dot indicator. A few shots of birds at longer distances have also been surprisingly sharp, again, with a nice bokeh. Adorama's packaging was good and delivery was prompt.

First Light: Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 Solid build, quick f/stop, tack sharp at f/4 or better, perfect portrait lens, dirt cheap (don't tell Rokinon), manual only lens. The lens leaf is not a perfect circle like a 50mm 1.8, so bokeh shoots won't have a perfect round circle. I for one am not scared of manual lenses. First, set the desired f/stop, then ISO (film speed), third adjust your shutter speed... that's it. It will always take a few test pictures because your camera won't 'read' that you...

The Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 AS IF UMC Lens for Micro Four Thirds Mount is a manual focus, manual aperture telephoto prime lens with a focal length equivalent to 170mm in the 35mm format. It is ideal for portraiture and other telephoto applications. Its bright f/1.4 maximum aperture is very effective in low light situations and provides shallow depth of field focus.
An aspherical lens element aids in the reduction of aberrations and UMC multi-layer coating minimizes flare and ghosting and contributes to overall sharp imaging. The lens offers a minimum focus distance of 3.3', its filter thread diameter is 72mm and included with the lens is a bayonet-type lens hood that deflects unwanted light and protects the lens from damage.
