This lens my work horse! I shoot a lot of real estate and this is my go to for both photos and video! The focal length is plenty sufficient and the sharpness is fantastic! Lightweight and just a solid build! I owned the heavier 14-24 sigma prior to this and that was great, but heavy and started to fall apart within a year!  This one I highly recommend. A must have in the bag!

Lightweight and sharp wide lens! Must have in the bag!

I bought this lens to compliment my 28-70mm f2.8 DG DN C lens. Both are constant f2.8 lenses, but 16-28mm is heavier than the 28-70mm and needs larger 72mm filters. Build quality is excellent and this lens has the advantage of internal zoom, so it stays at the length no matter how much you zoom out.

One small complaint about Adorama. This lens included free shipping but apparently Adorama has a location in Tennessee and they obviously use the cheapest UPS service available so the package travelled through 10 cities in 7 states before arriving to me in Massachusetts. So when I ordered two filters for this lens tonight, I ordered them from Adorama's arch NYC competitor. The filters cost a fraction of what the lens cost, also included free shipping and will be here in less than 2 days.

A Great Lens With Internal Zoom

Great form factor, perfect for my usage. Produces one of the sharpest images. Tone on this lens is pretty spot on as well.

Great lens, a great purchase

Ok, direct to the point, this lens does not like to shoot into a strong light, it sings with flare.  If you occasionally shoot into a strong light, like the Sun at sunset, you might want to avoid this lens.  But if you like flare this lens is for you.

Otherwise it is a great lens.  Relativity sharp, or sharp enough, and great zoom range for travel and landscapes.

Almost made it to five stars

Came super fast, well, minus the fact that when it got here the ups guy ignored me and then took it to an advanced auto parts, and they were confused there, but overall the lens is solid, ridiculously light weight, the 2.8 is solid.

GET THIS LENS FOR A good zoom wide option

Excellent Lens and Great Image Quality

bought for the Panasonic S1, L-Mount... it's exactly like the Sigma ART 24-70mm, just wider, and I mean this in the best way possible.  Sharp, easy to use, good depth of field for landscapes.  Good for astro, seascapes.  Thank you Sigma for giving us a great alternative to the 12-24mm (which I have also bought, but was stolen)

My new everyday landscape lens

Very sharp lens for this price range, even at wide open. The lens is light enough that can be attached to the camera all the time. Distortion is very obvious if correction is turned off, but that should not be a problem(this is also fairly common for a ultra wide angle zoomed lens) since on-camera live correction works flawlessly and there is already correction profile on Adobe Camera Raw.

I was also looking at 16-35GM before purchasing this lens. The performance at 35mm of 16-35GM is lottery, which worries me a little bit. As for Sigma 16-28, I do lose the extra reach from 28mm to 35mm. But since I am using it on A7R4, the missing focal length can be compensated with cropping if I really need it.

Note that although the front filter thread of this lens is 72mm, you still need something larger than 72mm filters if you would like to stack CPL and ND.
