Sharp, compact rectilinear DX ultrawide fisheye.

Compact, relatively sharp rectilinear DX ultrawide fisheye lens. The only notable con for me was some coma/chromatic aberration.

Sigma diagonal fisheye

Awesome lens on a full frame camera. Especially for architectural photos, particularly indoors.

Great lens, great price!

Absolutely no complaints about this lens. The diagonal pull fills the full frame and still gives that fish eye effect. Crisp, fast focus. And great minimum focus distance. Great lens at a great price.

Awesome for tight spaces

I use this on a Canon 5D and 1D. As a specialty lens it does the job and you can get some unique shots if you spend some time to learn how to use a fisheye. I use it mainly as a "ultra wide angle" lens. Photo image quality is good even in low light conditions. Lens is nice and compact so I carry it with me all the time just in case I need to take a real wide angle photo.

LOVE THIS LENS!!

I've been shooting all Nikon lenses for over 10 years. This is my first experience with any outside lens manufacturer, and I am VERY IMPRESSED! The lens functions flawlessly on my D810 and the image quality is outstanding in my opinion. I spent $ more on my DX 10.5 Nikon Fish, and while it's a great lens, I can't believe how much better this Sigma is. Getting all the accessories in this bundle was a nice bonus. I would highly recommend this lens to any beginner or pro, and I'll definitely be considering Sigma for future purchases.

Fun Fisheye

I would recommend this lens as an alternative to the Canon 8-15 Fisheye. Sharp and fun to use!

Great lens but not for me.

Was just a trial purchase and Adorama conveniently took it back after my short use. Can't beat Adorama,....their customer service policy rocks.

Love this lens

I bought this lens because I wanted to be able to offer a look to my wedding clients that they were not seeing a lot of. It is a lens that get used at almost every event I shoot. I like the lens because it is a fast lens of 2.8 and give me the fisheye look without being to much and can be shot in certain situations to give a very wide angle without too much distortion.

very good first impression

haven't had a lot of experience yet, but the initial photos of hebiscus blooming in its natural environment are quite nice. 4 stares for lack of working experience with the interesting lens.

Great lens

I had the 10mm fisheye lens for my Pentax asp-c camera so when I received my new Pentax K1 I bought the 15mm lens for a full frame camera. The images are sharp and I love the effects you can get with these lens.

Great Full Frame Lens

Purchased this lens to fill a void in my full frame kit for a Nikon Df. Although I have only used it twice, my initial impressions are positive. Auto focus speed is more than sufficient including low light. Color rendition is very good. The vertical fish eye format provides an interesting perspective that in my opinion could be overused to the extent of bordering on cliche. However, it appears to be very capable of producing dramatic images. Initially Sigma had issued an advisory indicating the firmware had some issues with the Df. This appears to have been rectified as I have had no issues with the lens.

Very good lens

Very good lens, needs to be stopped down a little for best results in corners. I tried two new 16mm f2.8 Fisheye Nikkors which were not nearly as good as the Sigma.

Good for a few fun shots

This is my first third party lens, and it is better than I expected. Produces noticeable chromatic aberration under some conditions, but automatic correction in Lightroom took care of it easily.

Better than I expected

Traded a bunch of rarely used lenses for this Fisheye. Have Canon 24-70 f/2.8 L and 70-200 f/2.8 II L, considered Canon 16-35, but too much overlap. The image quality is fantastic. I can't really imagine much better results with any lens ... At a reasonable cost.

Great Diagonal Fisheye

I had wanted a fisheye for some time, but I didn't want one of the fisheyes that was a circle inside a black frame. This diagonal fisheye is what I settled on. I read reviews of the Canon fisheye (which is more expensive, and an f.4), and there is negligible difference, especially considering the price and maximum aperture. Plus, this is a FUN lens, not a work lens! The lens is not "cheap" in terms of price, and definitely not in construction. It's well made, and has a solid feel. There are many auto-focus points that are very usable on this lens, and it locks-in very quickly. The manual focus is easy to use (good grips, smooth action), and has focal ranges marked clearly on the lens body. Reviews cover it, and the lens doesn't hide it - there is some noise when focusing. If you are used to a USM, it is louder than that. If you have ever used the Canon 50mm f1.8 lens, it sounds similar to that during auto-focus.

Very fun lens

I looked into this lens when the Nikon 16mm was out of stock. Reviews looked good and the $300 savings was also appealing. I took it on a photo workshop and was not disappointed. The lens is sharp and has very little flare. I was able to shoot straight towards the sun for "sun star" effects for some great shots. Shooting old trucks was awesome with this lens. All in all, a very fun, lightweight addition to my kit. I'm very glad it bought it.

I really like this lens

Fisheye lens are, in my opinion, meant for creative pursuits. At least that's what I use mine for. This is a very good lens. I have a couple of Sigma lens and they haven't let me down yet. Add this to that list.

Great alternative to Nikon 16mm Fisheye!

Up until now I have been a Nikon purist - I wanted everything to be pure Nikon. I bought this lens because it was $300 cheaper than the Nikon 16mm Fisheye and it is every bit as good! I have not been disappointed yet!

Fast focus and sharp!

If you havent used a fish eye before get used to the field of view! I do have pics with my feet in them, lol. I went with the Sigma over the canon to save cash. good choice in that I use this lens occasionally. it performs well for the money if you dont have L glass money.

A little loud but out performs the Canon

After using the 10mm Sigma Fisheye on my 7D, I needed a lens that would be compatible with my full frame 5D. The 15mm Canon has known issues, those of which the Sigma lack. Although it's a little loud when autofocusing, it's fast and sharp. Even wide open, aberrations are barely present, when compared to the now defunct Canon 15mm. Worth the money and great for video.

excellent fisheye for full-frame

I'm not a fan of the strange two-piece lens hood, or the "wings" of the built-in hood, but otherwise it's a great lens. It even works on my old FM2n!!I read a review by Thom Hogan [@] of the older version of this lens, and it won over the Nikon (which hasn't changed). That got me to try this instead of the Nikon, and I'm grad I did.

Great glass, great buy!

This 15mm f/2.8 Sigma lens performed great right out of the box with my Canon 350D. I take astro photographs of the night sky and it grabbed a bunch of sky with very minimal horizon bend. Nice piece of equipment.

Don't hesitate to buy this lens

By Andrew K.

I'm a Canon user. I have the 5D and the Rebel XT. I've always bought Canon glass because, well...that's what everyone in the know said to do. I'm glad I deviated from that on this lens. The image quality is top notch. Colors are bright and vivid. It also does a fantastic job of Star-ing out the sun. Set your aperature at 9 or higher and take a picture with the sun off center but somewhere in the frame and you'll get a beautiful sunburst with multiple rays shooting out from the center of the s...
