I'm going to return it. It does a good job at delivering image quality if you're fine with manual focus, but if you're doing photography gigs where you need to rely on autofocus, you can't rely on this piece. Even in moderate lighting, it constantly searches and can't seem to nail its focus. I need one that can autofocus well, so I'm probably going to save up $700 for a Metabones and see if that delivers better.

I've used the viltrox branded 'speedboosters' for multiple different camera systems. This particular model made for sony e-mount doesn't work that well. To get it to work properly, you have to turn the camera on, then remove the speedbooster and lens, and put it back on. That's the only way to get the camera screen to turn on and register. Autofocus speed is reasonable, but hunts and breathes when using continuous autofocus for video. I tried it with both a canon 24-105 and a 50mm stm and the breathing issue was present on both. I've used the EOS M version, and it works perfectly. I assume because its adapting a canon lens to a canon camera. On this particular model, you're adapting canon to sony.

On my Sony a6000 and my Canon M50 this adapter turned my EF70-300 4.0 L into a 2.8...

It works as far as being an adapter, but focusing on my Sony a6600 is hit or miss and the motor noise makes it unusable for video if you need audio. It also has major vignetting. I bought it for my Canon 70-200 2.8L lens. Not bad for the price though.

This Powerbooster adapter works as described and also adds speed to the lens. Also brings your lens close to a full frame lens

Become a master of versatility and image quality with the VILTROX EF-E II Lens Mount Adapter. This innovative adapter is designed to bridge the gap between your Canon EF-mount lenses and select Sony E-mount cameras, expanding your photographic capabilities. By increasing the lens aperture by 3 f-stops, it significantly enhances the amount of light entering the camera, allowing for superior low-light performance and a more pronounced bokeh effect that beautifully isolates your subject from the background.
The VILTROX EF-E II is not just about increased light; it also reduces the imaging focal length to 0.71x of the original, enabling your APS-C sensor cameras to capture images with a field of view akin to that of full-frame cameras. This compact and durable adapter maintains the essence of your lenses while providing a wider perspective, making it an essential tool for photographers looking to maximize their existing gear.
With its high-quality construction, the adapter ensures seamless communication between the lens and camera body. It supports automatic focusing, allowing you to capture sharp images quickly and efficiently. The adapter also facilitates automatic aperture adjustment, so you can control the depth of field with ease and precision.
While the VILTROX EF-E II enhances your photography experience, it's important to note that some users have reported varying autofocus performance and motor noise during video capture, which may affect audio quality. Additionally, vignetting may occur with certain lens and camera combinations. Despite these considerations, the adapter's versatility and ability to improve image quality make it a valuable addition for photographers who wish to utilize their Canon lenses on Sony E-mount camera systems.
Whether you're a professional photographer or an enthusiast looking to expand your creative options, the VILTROX EF-E II Lens Mount Adapter is a compact, durable, and versatile choice that can transform your approach to photography.
