Review Summary

The stabilization is a mixed blessing. When its full stabilized its v. good for the static shot, but if you try to pan, it keeps moving after you have stopped. I always find the field of view small on these cameras, not so good for scenery. Add a .5 focal reducer and its pretty good (58mm mounting ring is big!). But after that, and the big battery pack, and the external mic the thing has doubled in size. However, that besides, its still a great machine and Im v. happy with it.

I was not aware that the video files the camera records in would be problematic when importing into video editing systems. The files are recorded in AVCHD format so I had to convert the files first before editing. I tried several video converting programs before I found one that could convert the AVCHD files. Time consuming. I'm annoyed that I have to do this with everything I record.
