Having bought NEX-5T, I'm finally able to carry a camera with me every day without any premeditated reason. There is no question anymore, should I take a camera just in case or should I travel light. I just have it all the time in my bag.

Certain lenses, like SEL16F28, SEL20F28 and SELP1650 even allow it to fit in a jacket pocket.

This very model has a unique combination of features such as compact size, hybrid autofocus and digital level gauge, which is unfortunately not found in later mirrorless models a5xxx and a6xxx.

The only feature I miss in NEX-5T is a viewfinder. I initially thought to buy the external one, but its price is still too high.

In addition to the kit lens SELP1650, I've bought SEL1670Z, which is, regardless of controversial reviews, a huge step up in image quality compared to the kit lens. I would also highly recommend SEL24F18 and SEL35F18 which both turned out to be really good.

Pocketable camera with uncompromised image quality

This is a great camera. It is small, has great quality and is quick. It is great for street photography. This and other future models are a great line of cameras!

Great for Street Photography

I have an A65 and wanted the wife to get something smaller, finally she did. She loves it and i can't say how jealous i am. The camera takes very good pictures with auto settings and if user is knowledgeable F-stop and shutter can be manipulated. We went out to the race track and she was taking better pictures then me. I had a zoom advantage, but at the end of the day... She could get the small camera out and take great shots at the pits while i felt uncomfortable to take out the a65 70-200 lens out. The great thing about this camera is that u can take pictures everywhere because it is so small and u dont have to worry about settings the camera will set it up for u and take the picture fast. I still think my A65 with all the a-mount lens available is a great feature, but its nice that a small little camera that fits in your pocket and shots fast and sharp works and competes with the big units is a great reason to buy...

Small and powerful

This camera takes wonderful photo's and is compact and easy for on the go. Small enough it is not cumbersome for vacation use.

Unfortunately Sony customer service is pretty inconvenient. I purchased this camera in April 2013, it mysteriously stopped working in February 2014. I took it to the Sony store, they are not equipped to handle camera's. They referred us to the technical support line. I had to mail the camera in, at which point I was told that the camera had physical damage and could be repaired for $800. My problem with the product is that the camera had never been dropped, any damage done I would deem as normal wear and tear. I feel the longevity and durability of the camera should have been better in this price point.

The Panorama feature on this camera was GREAT! Until is completely stopped functioning after four months of use. The photo's were too dark to discern anything.
