Good lens, iffy lens hood.

It?s a good lens but the lack of any kind of electronic controls kills it for me. Better off buying an AF lens. Also, the lens hood is nice because it?s metallic, but it just doesn?t fit to the lens well. Mine felt loose and it didn?t really lock in when turned.

Love this lens!

What an incredible lens! When they say Zero D, they really do mean zero distortion or very close to it. My previous wide angle lens always needed a lot of vertical adjustment in lightroom which ended up requiring a crop which then reduced the wide angle view. Not with this lens! It?s pretty much WYSIWYG! Also, the sharpeness of the lens is impeccable. There is some vignetting but it?s to be expected on such a wide focal length and it is easily corrected in Lightroom using the vignetting slider. It makes beautiful starbursts too.

Great Lens!

Really great lens. Great build quality and remarkable images. Still some distortion, but very minimal. Focus throw feels great, and so does the aperture ring. Also like how the aperture has a function to deactivate the click. Great overall lens.

Manual but low distortion

Sharp; for horizontal shots little barrel distortion compared to fish eye. More Vignetting than I had hoped for. I warmed up to the manual focus and aperture control. Overall a good choice for a fast wide field lens

Good for night sky

Bought it mostly for night sky photography. The manual focus ring is smooth and build feels pretty good. at F2 vignette is noticeable at night however I don't think this is a big issue. Lightroom can easily correct it. It is lighter and significantly smaller compared to my old Rokinon 14mm. Overall I think this is an excellent choice!

Sharp and lightweight low light performer

Beautiful lens. Lightweight and sharp. No distortion. Great for photos and video. Photos at f8 are great. Shooting real estate videos at f2 was a breeze

Pretty amazing

Ive done a pretty thorough test on the lens at all f stops, very impressed with its sharpness and color rendition, looking forward to their 10-18mm coming out soon.

Your first and last wide angle! If autofocus isn’t your thing.

Perfect lens. I switched from my rokinon 14mm 2.8. I switched mainly for the extra stop when shooting Astro and since I plan on making videos for real estate and love the zero-D it’s not perfect but it’s damn close. Only noticed the distortion at awkward angles but when held equal axis it’s perfect! Only complaint would be no autofocus but I knew what my uses are and it does just that. And an obvious reason why it’s cheaper than autofocus lenses.

Amazing wide angle lens with great performance.

The Laowa D-Dreamer 15mm F2 is an amazing lens for wide angle shots. I am very pleased with its performance and it is very fun to shoot. The extra accessories the lens came with in the bundle were a nice touch.

Venus 15mm f/2

Venus 15mm f/2.

The Laowa 15mm f/2 FE Zero-D is currently the widest f/2 rectilinear lens in the market which comes with a native E mount (i.e. Does not require additional adapters). It is an ultra-wide & ultra-fast prime lens which covers both 35mm full-frame & APS-C sensors. Despite the extreme specifications, Venus Optics has successfully minimized the weight of the lens to around 500g (1.1 pounds (Approx.)) and 8cm long. This compact and light lens comprises of 12 elements in 9 groups with 2 pcs of aspherical elements and 3 pcs of Extra-low dispersion elements. The patented optical design successfully minimizes the distortion and chromatic aberrations to its lowest but at the same time, delivers a superb optical performance from corners to corners.

72mm Filter Thread.
Ultra-wide & fast lenses in the market tend to be huge and have a dome-shaped front element. It is a headache for lan dscape photographers who need to use filters very often. Venus Optics understand their needs and manage to design a flat front surface and include a 72mm filter thread into the lens. 72mm screw-on filters can be used and no more investment on bulky filter holder is required.

Ultra Wide, Ultra Fast.

The extreme 110deg. angle of view and ultra-fast f/2 aperture allow photographers to create impressive astro-photography shots with ease. It also gives photographers a fast and wide-angle option for landscape photography and low-light shooting.

Close-to-Zero Distortion.
The Laowa 15mm f/2 FE Zero-D is the second member of the Close-to-Zero distortion line-up from Venus Optics, followed the launch of 12mm f/2.8 Zero-D last year. The lens is specially designed to remove the optical distortion commonly exist in wide angle lenses at infinity focus. Any straight lines will be retained.

Focus As close As 15cm.
Photographers can take advantage of the super close focusing distance (i.e. 15cm) and the f/2 aperture to create some bokeh shots and wide angle close-up shots.

Handy For Videographers.
The new Laowa 15mm f/2 FE Zero-D is specially designed with an aperture switch which allows users to quickly switch between click-less and clicked aperture. This added feature will be extremely useful for videographers.

Ultra Wide, Ultra Fast.
