Even though they are unbelievably expensive, I?ve always bought the OE hand grip for all of my Nikons. I?ve never had a problem with any of them.

Adds more battery life as it holds a 2nd battery as well makes it easier to take vertical shots.

Wonderful. It is great for all night Timelapse without the need to end early due to dead batteries.

I love the way the Nikon grips feel in my hand and add the extra power when needed. Nikon grips are more money but I find that they are reliable and work great in all conditions.

As always Nikon battery grips function flawlessly and make taking portrait oriented images a snap. I also like the fact that they make my camera bodies so much more easier to handle. I’ve tried generic brands before and never had good luck with reliability and so I always by Nikon, even in a used condition to achieve reliable functionality without worrying that an after market grip will harm my expensive body.

The extra battery capacity is valuable in the field. Worth it even with the significant added weight.

This accessory came free with the camera, which is why I purchased it, and after watching a video of how to use it, am so glad I chose to get this. This has so many uses besides just power. I love to shoot with different camera angles and this gives great handhold for doing so.

Having previously used a cheaper off-brand battery pack on my D7100 I was very pleased with this piece of kit. Fit and function are perfect, and it feels like it's meant to be on the D850. Extra battery power + shooting faster makes this a no-brainer.

Great camera, everything I wanted in a DSLR, upgraded from my d750 and I'm very satisfied with this.

I see no reason to not give this 5 stars, but I find these to really increase the bulk of my rig. In fact, it can be a limiting factor. Having said that, I really liked having it when shooting at a concert recently. Rotating the camera 90 degrees and the buttons are all there and the back button focusing still works great. I did not, and will not, invest in the crazy expensive battery and charger that are optional just to get a few more pictures per second. I just have no need for that.

Man. it is great. It was great to purchase. The Camera capabilities are so much better with the MB-D18 Battery Pack. Not to mention, that I got it just as an addition to my Nikon D850 absolutely FREE. Great and Best Deal on the market! Adorama rocks! Thomas M

This is a complete waste why would anybody put this on their camera and cover-up the main battery latch so that they have to take this thing off when the main battery dies. You can only put one battery in the battery grip I can just carry one in my pocket why do I need the grip. I also would need to buy a different sized L bracket to put around this big grip..and then take the l bracket off every time I want to shoot handheld? I certainly don't need the grip to take a steady picture in portrait I do just fine without it. I was so excited that I was going to get this $ accessory for free and so disappointed when I realized how poorly designed and unnecessary it is..

Tried the cheaper on but the cover broke in my bag after the 1st month. This one seems built a lot tougher.

I've been using the grip extensively for a while now and I can say it just feels like an extension to the camera. Feels sturdy and comfortable at the same time. Also comes with a socket to use AA batteries instead which I haven't tried but I like to keep it as a backup of the backup battery. The only issue I had with it was that the quarter-inch socket was a bit too shallow and one of my straps couldn't be locked on it but it was still usable and it was only the 1 strap. Other straps worked fine so I'll consider it a minor issue.

The grip fits very tight, it like it becomes part of the camera body. It works flawlessly, it is well worth the money.

For those of us who frequently shoot in portrait mode, either for actual portraits or for formatting purposes, this is an ergonomically well designed addition to my camera. I am also very used to the slight extra weight so that the camera feels incomplete when not attached.

Tha battery grip not only increases the frame rate but also appears to improve the focus speed of my 500 f4. A must have if you do sports or wildlife photography.

I can shoot for at least 4 times as long with the EN-EL18a battery as compared to the EN-EL15 battery and that is a bigger advantage than one might think.

There're some people who try to save money on the battery grip. I always go with Nikon OEM product. The built quality and durability make huge difference. I believe what you pay for what you get. There's no reason to go with cheap with expensive camera (equipment). I recommend to everyone who puchased Nikon D850 to go with OEM.

Fantastic, wouldn’t live without it. Solid and well made, and of course necessary for shooting 9fps increase on the D850. Better battery life extension.
