This lens is super smooth has some lovely creamy bokeh to it and will get you shots that will take your breath away

expected better results from such an expensive lens, wish I had done my home work before purchasing, a lot of people having the same issues.

not sharp

My copy is not as clear and sharp on one side as on the other. "Sharp and clear from corner to corner" is false advertising. This bug is famous for this purpose in internet forums. It has fewer configuration options than other cheaper targets. Technical service does not give satisfactory solutions.

Big disappointment

This is my main lens. Super clean, crisp and detailed. Af is excellent. Love the aperture ring. Smooth bokeh. Ive read reviews saying this lens is overpriced and that there is inconsistency in the build quality. Maybe I got lucky but this lens is incredible and absolutely worth the price. Ive used lenses 10x the price that are not as clean.

Favorite lens i have used

This is pretty much the only lens I used on my FS7. Phenomenal low quality, fast, sharp, beautiful image. It's expensive, but worth it. And will hold its value.

Recently bought this.. Best lens for those who are looking for best shallow depth of field.. The bokeh is just awesome ..The aperture ring is an added advantage. Build in quality is good.. Quite heavy.. But can fit to Gimbal perfectly. Perfect lens for those who like to shoot weddings and Potraits. Highly reconmended

I’ve been wanting a fast 35mm lens so before purchasing this lens I played around with my friends. I absolutely love this focal length. It is prefect for portraits, landscape, taking photos in the city and for low light situations. I have 24-70mm G Master but it’s been off my camera since purchasing the 35mm. The only thing I don’t like about this camera is the fringing, and there is a lot of fringing. Especially when you are wide open. You will see green and purple fringing when shooting so be mindful. Yes, you can have it corrected in post but it won’t be perfect and it’s more work.

Really love this lens.  I shoot wide open 80 percent of the time and in the middle 75 percent it is really sharp and distortion free.  Wide open it is a little bit soft and bent on the edges, but has not been an issue for me.  (Stopped down,  sharp to corners.)  I don't know if it is the focal length or the optics or bokeh  or color rendition, or what, but I love - and those who see my picks love- a greater percentage of pics from this lens than from my other lenses (Sony 24 1.4 and 85 1.4 - both razor sharp lenses).  So I keep coming back to this for walk-around and for outside candid-like portraits.

It's a great lens for street and general landscape shots. It's a bit hefty when married to the a7r3 but it performs very well and auto focus is quick. It's f1.4 is magic.

I bought it two months ago and I very happy with it. Bokeh is really nice and sharpness and af are great too. The onpy problem is chromatic aberration. It's huge at f1.4 Totally unacceptable for me.

This is one of the best investment I have made! It produces very sharp images. I only wish it could be a little lighter in weight. Anyway, I love it.

Like the class Zeiss, it is practical, elegant and has a delicate meaning.
Real colors, beautiful bokeh, precise and fast focusing are all in line with my expectations. If add on AF / MF On-lens controls, like Planar T* FE 50mm F1.4 ZA It's even more perfect.
