It's a neat, and nice instead of having that big trigger on the camera, but it FAILs to often, I have had more misfires with the R2 Nano than the R2 ProMark II. Don't get me wrong it is good when it works, but its 50/50 for me.

I have had mine in use since Aug 2024 and my thoughts and findings are as follows: First impressions were "My god its small AF" and I was not crazy about the whole mini touch screen, but coming from the Pro R2 MKII remotes... that was to have been expected. I got it because I was experiencing misfires on my 1DX and one of my 5D3 bodies with the Pro R2 MKII that I was pulling my hair out troubleshooting. The first thing I did was set up 4 Explor600s side by side and stress tested for misfires in the studio .. it performed well with the 0-90 foot (0-30m) setting made, then I tried it as I shoot in the field with my light on my mobile assistant and me varying my distances, with not one misfire. First gig. Shot the 5D3, 3 teams, not one misfire. My shooting position was within 6 feet of my main light for both stations and inside a HS gym so not much if any measurable interference to be had with the 3 light and 2 light setups. I did find out that they don't second bounce well. My assistant went to remove the trigger... he was bumped by one of the players and the Nano fell approx 4.5 feet (chest height) onto the deck.. he broke its fall with a flick of the foot but could not recatch it and it split into a couple of pieces. He put it back together and tested it for 4 minutes on the other set, handed it back to me and said its good to go. He offered to buy a replacement.. I told him rubbish. It has not failed yet. 7 months on, I am considering a second one because I am becoming very accustomed to the interface and even without the IR Focus Assist beam (oh that's the business!!), I like the low profile and fit of the Nano not to mention the long assed battery life thing. That said, I keep 2 of the R2 Pro MKII triggers in my case/backpack at all times not just because of backups or I shoot multiple camera, but I am so comfortable with them that should anything go amiss with the Nano, I have no downtime or the like. If you shoot godox/flashpoint, I strongly recommend the Nano if you are wanting to upgrade your remote trigger.

Excelente dispositivo, muy fácil de usar y muy intuitivo. La pantalla es un poco pequeña pero al poco tiempo uno se adapta a los botones. El botón de seguridad para la zapata del flash es perfecto.

The touchscreen/dial combo is both unconventional and innovative. The design is modern, compact, and compact. It's amazing how much is packed into such a small form factor. Functionality wise it isn't lacking, but navigation requires some getting used to as the user flow is different from traditional triggers.

As the name suggests, it's tiny and light. And the touchscreen works great.

I purchased this trigger mainly for its small footprint and it didn't disappoint in that respect. Operation is easy enough after a quick learning curve and I'm happy with the product.

Very small footprint, which is nice. Less awkward than the prior iteration, and since the AA battery case on the older model never stayed shut (for me) this AA-less version is big improvement Does take a bit of adjustment to get used to it. But does the job.

Once you get one and adapt to the size and features, it's the best option for the job. It's best to have a portable charging system available, as you would for your cel phone, if you plan on using it for a long period of time. I really appreciate the size and weightlessness of it. It's not intrusive or bulky. It has a touch screen, so learning which direction to navigate and find your desired features and functions will take time. Otherwise, when you get yours, just saync it and shoot. Enjoy

Love this thing! It's so slick and easy to use. But my favorite part is that it takes up so much less space than its predecessor. Touch controls are responsive, and intuitive (feels like an Apple device) as is the click/scroll wheel, and I love that you can do everything with either one. I do prefer adjusting flash output with the wheel, as it feels more precise for small adjustments. Such a huge improvement!

Intuitive - I am not professional photographer, when I need to use multiple flashes with an old control I must read the instruction again. So, most of the time I just avoid using multiple flashes. This flash controller changes all that. The touchscreen is responsive, the buttons are tactile and use single function. The screen is bright and readable for old eyes, even in full sun. Thus it is very small and stored in a well made leather box. Worth every penny to me.

This is the best R2 trigger that I've used thus far. I was going to give this a 4 stars rating because it would loose connection during the middle of a shoot and I couldn't understand why. So I cleaned the hot shoe on my camera from dust and it works flawless now. I have zero complaints

Once I practiced some and got familiar with the controls I was able to speed through shoots with this item. Definitely faster than my other Godox Triggers to use.. Battery life is excellent. And, the small size and light weight are welcomed.

I love just about everything about this. It's nice and small, works great, and most of the controls and settings are intuitive. My only real complaint is that the on/off switch is slow. A flip switch would be much better for quickly turning off the remote in order to check or change background exposure.

Every photographer turns the trigger on and off to expose ambient light. Its literally the first step when learning off camera flash. It's literally worse for real estate photography when you HAVE to turn on and off for ambient shots and flash shots back to back. The fact that Godox and flashpoint missed this shows they are detached from how a photographer works a flash system. The interface is very nice. The touch screen is good as well but can be a bit fussy; If you accidently slide your finger across the screen it comepletely throws off exposure setting. Either way, the fact that it takes so long to turn on and off makes this trigger a step down from previous x2 triggers

Really nice looking trigger. It is great when it works and is easy to use. I love that I can recharge it. However when I have had big shoots that take hours. Things like schools, sports teams, dance schools -- that aren't non stop shooting, but are lengthy in time the trigger just stops working. Nothing changes the screen stays on but it won't trigger the lights. I am not sure what causes this and so far its happened at times when I get a line of subjects and I can't stop the shoot to figure it out. I always keep an old trigger near by ready to go.

Huge improvement over the original R2
By Bryan W.
The first thing that I noticed was the size. It's so small! But despite its small size, the display is easy to read and the controls are easy to use. It fits in the hotshoe well and isn't in the way like other controllers. I like the fact you can use the buttons or touch. It's much more intuitive than the original R2, which could be a bit finicky at times. The Nano just works. I had zero issues with it right out of the box.
Exceeding all expectations!
By MARIO H.
I ordered it more out of curiosity when it was first announced. When it finally came in, I was very impressed with how well made it is. The control wheel feels solid and precise. The display is very simple and the commands are always accurate. The touch screen is glass. This tiny control is a great add on to the Flashpoint / Godox ecosystem.
