- Color shift issues when up close "enjoying" 6K. (ie. if you need accurate colors from edge to edge, this isn't the one) - Noticeable and distracting vignetting (darker towards the edges of the screen). + colors are nice, if you are further away from the panel but again, white balance shift away from center negates this plus factor for any accurate work. - price. + pretty on your desk (if that matters vs performance) - bad apple! I was hoping for a knock out the park. :(. I love their other gear though.

I bought this monitor to color grade hdr content on DaVinci Resolve. It is really nice to see the footage in hdr directly on the resolve viewport, it looks amazing for grading hdr. My problem with this display is the poor view angle, when you are in front of the monitor the center looks ok but the sides get darker like a vignette and you must move your head to see the correct color, for example.. I was grading a snow scene, the center of the scene looks white but the sides get a blue-gray tint and I must move far away from the monitor to check the color without the vignette effect from the poor view angle. The Nano coating is nice, the videos looks amazing without reflections but you will notice a weird and distracting noise from the nano coating unless you seat far away from the display.

The new high performance Mac Pro & Mac Pro Display XDR was created by Apple for professional users. It’s designed to enable a wide range of uses and virtually unlimited possibilities for customization.

Along with custom lenses and geometrically optimized reflectors, this system shapes and controls the light, achieving industry leading brightness.
The Pro Display attaches to a stand made from a single aluminum extrusion, with precise mechanisms in the arm that counterbalanace the display, making it feel almost weightless in both landscape and portrait.
Central to the design is a stainless steel space frame that also functions as handles and feet. 360 degree access and multiple mounting points makes this display ready for all perspectives.

The Apple Pro Display XDR 32" 16:9 Retina 6K HDR IPS LCD Display with Nano-Texture Glass is a groundbreaking advancement in professional display technology, offering an unparalleled visual experience. As the first 32-inch Retina 6K display, it delivers an impressive 218 pixels per inch (ppi), providing nearly 40% more screen real estate than a 5K display. This expansive canvas is perfect for creatives who require detailed and sharp imagery, easily accommodating 4K content alongside essential tools.
With up to 1600 nits of peak brightness and 1000 nits of full-screen sustained brightness, the Pro Display XDR sets a new industry standard. Its 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio ensures stunningly realistic imagery, thanks to its Extreme Dynamic Range (XDR) capabilities. This display goes beyond traditional High Dynamic Range (HDR) by utilizing breakthrough backlighting technology, which includes a sophisticated 2D backlighting system with 576 blue LEDs. These LEDs are controlled by twelve controllers that modulate each LED for precise light control, reducing latency and blooming.
The Pro Display XDR's P3 wide color gamut and true 10-bit color depth allow it to produce over a billion colors with exceptional accuracy. This is achieved through state-of-the-art calibration and a sophisticated algorithm, ensuring the highest-quality color reproduction. The innovative nano-texture glass option further enhances the display by reducing glare while maintaining contrast, making it ideal for uncontrolled lighting environments.
Designed for professional workflows, the Pro Display XDR offers customizable reference modes to match the requirements of HDR, HD, SD video, digital cinema, photography, web development, design, and print. True Tone technology, with dual ambient light sensors, adjusts the display's color and intensity based on your lighting environment, ensuring accurate viewing conditions.
The Pro Display XDR's design includes a lattice pattern machined into the aluminum, which doubles the surface area exposed to air, facilitating efficient cooling. This allows the display to sustain extreme brightness levels indefinitely. The Pro Stand complements the display's functionality with adjustable height, tilt, and rotation, allowing for seamless transitions between landscape and portrait orientations.
In summary, the Apple Pro Display XDR redefines professional display standards with its Retina 6K resolution, XDR capabilities, advanced LED technology, and customizable features, making it an essential tool for creatives seeking precision and excellence in their work.
