Used Aputure Light OctaDome 120 Bowens Mount Softbox

I bought this softbox to replace my even cheaper Aputure Latern 90 softbox that I used in combination with my Aputure LS 300 D II for making videos for my YT channel. Upon unboxing and using it for a few times, I think I can give you a few summaries about this lightbox. Pros: Great light modulating quality, more diffused shadows compared to using the Latern 90 2 front diffusers included (1.5 stops and 2.5 stops) Light modulating grid included Additional interior light baffle included Carrying case included Overall good use of quality materials (more durable fabrics used for construction of softbox) Cons: Incredibly difficult to install and requires great force for the last couple of rods (you need to install 8 rods into the mount) I had to put on a heavy-duty utility glove to bend those rods into place, as well as use my foot to secure the softbox before I can stretch the fabric to push in the last rod. I absolutely don't want to take this apart after the shoot, as disassembly will again require an immense amount of force applied to the rod and fabric. Light baffle build quality is not as good as some competitors, and is secured using velcro instead of hooks and loops. Would I recommend this lightbox? It depends... If it's going to be a permanent setup left in a studio, it's a great softbox with excellent light output. If you are thinking of using this on location with constant assembly and disassembly, stay away from this and find one of the other options that features a quick detach and attach option, and you can thank me later for that.
