This is a handy outlet. It's design allow you to charge computers and phones while having normal 120 outlets. I use it in my RV with a inverter powered outlet. Thus I can recharge my computer and phone quicker than were I to use DC power.

Got this for travel purposes. The size seems to be ideal for my purpose. If this remains reliable, it will be a good buy.

The product does exactly what it is supposed to do. It even has a surge protection guarantee. The rotating plug feature is particularly good. The device is larger than I was expecting but it isn't very heavy and should work well for travel situations.

Recently purchased this product on sale and am mostly underwhelmed. For the price, it isn't too bad, but I quickly discovered a few things that I should have looked in to before hand. On the upside You can rotate the device 360 degrees with 4 locking positions which is a nice touch, and it also comes with a fairly solid rubber cover for the AC prongs which actually doubles as a stabilizer for the device by sliding into a groove on the opposite end. The outlets are also very tight (at least in the one I have which I actually really like because there's nothing worse than having the things you plugged in suddenly popping out of the outlet unplanned. However, I made the mistake of impulse purchasing without looking for more detailed specifications. My first impression was that it was significantly larger and heavier than I expected it to be measuring roughly 12.5x5x4 cm plus extra for the AC prongs. The outlets are also spaced relatively close together, leaving you in a bind if one out of the three items you want to plug in is larger than average (and these days, average tends to be getting bigger). Also, on a more benign note, the USB cable provided is USB-->mini USB, which is rarely used now in favor of USB-->micro USB, but this really isn't a big deal. The biggest problem for me however is that in my idiotic rush, I never looked elsewhere for a reference to the current and voltage output of the USB outlets. They are 5V/500mA each. This might have been the gold standard years ago, but now, not only will it charge most devices extremely slowly, but it may not charge other devices AT ALL due to the low current provided, as well as some other possibly unidentifiable reasons. Reviews from other sites for this product have reported an inability to charge not only newer high battery capacity tablets and phones possibly due to insufficient current, but also older devices which should by all rights be capable of charging using 5V/500mA (possibly a fault of the device's design regarding data connection requirements though). Others have reported problems charging devices such as ipod touch and ipads. I myself am unable to charge an Xperia TX via the USB unless the device is powered down (strange considering it charges fine with a computer's USB 2.0 which provides the same voltage and current). Considering that my primary purpose of purchasing this device was to charge said phone, it's a bit of a deal breaker for me. My fault for not checking product specifications, but it would be nice if it was listed by Dell, and the claim that it can "charge virtually any USB device" may be a tad misleading by this point. Complaints from other reviews have also included buzzing noises and overheating, but I cannot comment further on these as I have not experienced them personally.

I bought this device since at my bedside there is only one outlet and that is not enough to plug in my lamp, my alarm clock and also charge my phone and iPad. I thought this would do the trick but unfortunately the USB chargers are unable to provide a charge to my Ipad or my Google phone. I am basically left with a large three-plug splitter....which I already had. Reviews on other sites mention this many times - I should have researched further before purchasing. Complete waste of money for my purposes.

Hotel rooms and airport terminals never seem to have enough power outlets to charge all the devices today's traveler brings along. Now you can add outlets and peace of mind on business trips and vacations with the Belkin Mini Surge Protector. This new design features three AC outlets and two powered USB outlets - perfect for MP3 players and mobile phones.
