This is a pretty fun gain pedal that has a lot of tonal options. The "Angry" side is a JHS Angry Charlie. It doesn't have the full EQ section of the Angry Charlie, but it can get pretty "angry". It gives you a Marshall JCM800 tone in a box, and it does a great job of that. The "Driver" side is the classic Boss Blues Driver. It can go from relatively mild overdrive to distortion, maybe even near fuzz. You can even turn the gain way down and use it as a boost. Where this pedal really shines is the stacking options. You can go Blues Driver into Angry Charlie, Angry Charlie into Blues Driver, or run them in parallel. That is all with just a turn of a knob. The parallel option in particular is a something you couldn't easily do without getting a dedicated mixing pedal. Also, the controls for each of the Blues Driver and Angry Charlie are separate and independent, so you can change each of them to sound how you like them.

While celebrating the 40th anniversary of BOSS compact pedals, industry leaders BOSS and JHS Pedals have united to create the JB-2 Angry Driver, a revolutionary drive pedal with an expansive tonal range. This innovative pedal, encased in the iconic BOSS compact design, seamlessly blends the distinctive tones of the renowned BOSS BD-2 Blues Driver and JHS Pedals' acclaimed Angry Charlie.
The JB-2 Angry Driver is the result of a unique collaboration, with both pedal innovators working hand-in-hand to develop a novel combined circuit. This circuit has been meticulously refined for optimal sound and performance, specifically tuned for dual-mode drive operation.
This all-new overdrive pedal, co-developed by BOSS and JHS Pedals, harmoniously merges the voices of the BD-2 Blues Driver from BOSS and Angry Charlie from JHS Pedals. It features three dual-concentric knobs, offering independent control over drive, tone, and level for each overdrive type.
The JB-2 Angry Driver also includes a mode selector, allowing users to choose individual overdrive types, two series connections for stacking, or a parallel connection for creating unique new sounds. Additionally, it offers a mode for toggling between BOSS and JHS overdrives with the built-in pedal switch.
For added convenience, the JB-2 Angry Driver is equipped with a remote switch jack. This feature allows for controlling pedal modes and bypass from an optional footswitch or effects switching system. The multi-color LED indicator displays BOSS mode (blue), JHS mode (red), and both together (purple), providing a visual guide to your selected settings.
With the JB-2 Angry Driver, you gain the ability to blend the Blues Driver's famously expressive low-to-mid gain tones with the Angry Charlie's aggressive rock voice in any combination. This provides an unmatched range and versatility from a single overdrive pedal, making it a must-have for any electric guitar enthusiast.
