Have not finished learning what all it could do. So far it does all I can handle with the promise of much more.

Needed a new camera to replace my camera that died. This one really outdoes the one that it replaced. Very easy to use.

I use this little camera to throw in when traveling and also at home. It is small and convenient. I love the amount of time the battery stays up. The zoom is so great when I am in the field as I do a lot of hunting, fishing, and camping. I will be going on a 6 month backpacking trip and this little camera will be going with me to record all my experiences. I have tried other cameras but they don't compare. Most eat batteries like crazy

I was on vacation but hadn't used my camera in awhile. I hadn't deleted my previous trip's pictures, 167, and wanted to start fresh but I could only see how to delete one at a time. "There has to be a way!" I did not have my computer with the downloaded info so I went to the Canon site for my ELPH 130is: "there are no online manuals for this product", I was told! Absolutely helpless as how to refresh my usage knowledge. VERY inconvenient and frustrating. Why no online instructions, Canon?

I've had this camera for about a month now. I bought the red one !!!! Really enjoying it ! Nice crisp , clear photos, the enclosed software CD is valuable - the editing software is fun and easy to use. Very easy to download photos from camera to computer. This is the first camera I've had that had such a good zoom feature, works easily ! I love the fact that it works beautifully on AUTO without having to change things, unless you really want to. But, I do have to agree with some of the comments above about the user's manual....I went through it and printed off my own cheat sheets for a few topics....Altogether, An excellent purchase for the money !

Our company has 5 of the ELPH 130 IS cameras in service now for about two years and we love them. I'm writing this review because I just ordered two more. I agree that the instruction book is a mess and the "Menu" could use some simplification......but I still have to give the camera a 5 rating overall.

I never would have purchased this product if I had known that you had to remove the battery to charge it and it is recommended to have a second battery on hand already charged. So I bought a new battery (not from canon but supposedly the right size. 1) I had to remove the original battery with tweezers. I could not get it out otherwise. 2) The new battery did not fit. Maybe with a struggle at the risk of breaking something, you might have gotten it in or out. It was a smidgen too long and thicker. 3) I didn't realize in this day and age that you would not be able to charge your camera with a USB on your computer. You can't. Lessons: check on batteries ahead of time and don't use non-canon battery products, which are significantly more expensive. This is my third point and shoot camera. I take a lot of pix. This is the only one I have written a review on. The photos I have taken are ok but nothing special photographically.

I have the silver one. Like the size and the performance and clarity of photos.Like the varied zoom options. I gotta agree with Blacky, the instructions manual will take days to go through. There is almost too many features! Love this camera

I needed a shirt pocket camera & choice this one & glad I did. The optical image stabilization is unbelievable as I did a 3 second exposure hand held & there was NO blur! The 28 to 224 mm equivalent lens is nice range to have. The multitude of options is mind blowing, even has a fish-eye effect. My only complaint is the printed manual helps very little in the operation, You have to download the CD & then look on the computer to learn all it's features & that is NOT convenient, Canon should provide a cheat sheet as it takes a while to learn all it's functions...

Canon PowerShot ELPH 130is

The latest in Canon's fabled ELPH line, the Canon PowerShot ELPH 130 IS adds Wi-Fi capabilities. Designed for snapshooters who want a traditional camera design but a step up from a basic camera, this model offers 16MP, a 28-224mm (35mm equivalent) f/3.2-6.9 lens, a 16MP CMOS sensor with an ISO range of 100-1600, 720p HD video capture, 32 preset modes that can be chosen by Smart Auto, which analyzes the scene and chooses the most appropriate settings, and ECO mode, which Canon claims extends battery life.
Intelligent IS automatically chooses the best anti-camera-shake mode based on actual camera movement, and built-in Wi-Fi lets you share images to online social networks and other sources via your iOS or 'Droid mobile device.
