Works exactly as described. All of the functions on the flash work exactly like they do when attached directly to the camera hot shoe. The coiled cord is a good length allowing easy attachment but stays out of the way in use. Both "shoes" attach firmly and I had no concern with my large, heavy 600 EX II-RT flash coming loose.

Only problem is it was a little short for what I needed it for.

Great results with this off shoe camera cord. I got what I paid for!

Works every time. Solidly built and hot-shoe seats perfectly. Cord extends to just the right length to attach to flash on my offset mount. Excellent product.

Whether your shooting at night a snap of your wife or setting up an outdoor sunset pic, nothing beats this tool. The flexibility it offers is so handy. I haven't had any issues whatsoever with the quality because I don't use it all the time. Like anything in this life under heavy use I am sure it can fail. But I haven't had this issue at all. Its worked great for me every time.

This is the third one I bought but different brands. The others didn't work properly or broke. So far the Canon unit is better quality and works great.

Used it several times over the last week since purchased. Works as advertised. Seems pretty sturdy. Will see over time.

I have been using the Canon OC-E3 EOS Dedicated TTL Off-Camera Shoe Cord for all my Canon digital cameras when photographing candid events. My only recommendation to Canon is to make the Off-Camera end with a metal foot instead of plastic. I have several that have broken feet and must be attached to the bracket holding my strobe with a screw. I love this connector.

Enjoyed previous model but found that footer for mounting to camera was all plastic (which broke to easily). New version has metal plate (see illustration). Great for use with Stroboframe bracket with allows greater modeling of faces and avoids red eye.

I am onto my third one because this is not designed to handle the weight of the flash with any type of head movement or a modifier. It breaks at the plastic at the screw plate. I've spoken to Canon and they state it is designed for forward flash only. No modifiers, and no head movement. Poor design not great for any type of larger speed light flash

I have used this cord on my 5D MarkIII for fill flash and found it very easy to use. It seems to be very durable. I have used an off brand and the quality of this cord is much better and worth the cost.

This cord goes perfect with the Custom Brackets CB Mini-RC angled Camera Flash platform. Locks in nicely, overall good product.

An absolute necessity if you want the flash off of the camera to eliminate that "Deer in the Headlights" look.

If you forgot your ST-E2, this is a reliable substitute if 3 feet off camera is enough. Or, if you are using an off camera flash that doesn't slave.

I've tried the other brands, I'll stick with Canon products; they are more dependable and have higher build quality.

I wanted this for the purpose of angling my light as needed on exterior shoots when larger pieces of equipment were not practical. Unfortunately, the cord is not nearly long enough or flexible enough for this use. Otherwise, it works as intended.

I've used aftermarket brands in the past, but never really felt confident when using them. I have not had a single problem when using Canon products.

I have tried the less expensive brands in the past, but they didn't hold up.

It works as advertised however the plastic used is brittle and esily broken. No relacement parts are available so the whole unit must be relplaced. Also the cord should be a little longer. My recommendation is only if nothing better can befound.

When I bought this accessory, I somehow thought the cord was a little longer. Depending on your intended use, it could use another 12 inches or more of stretch to satisfy all of your needs. Otherwise, it's not a bad piece of equipment. It does what it is supposed to....if only the cord was longer. That one little detail and the price makes it slightly less desirable.

Wanted to use my flash on my old Vivitar flash bracket, to get the flash off of the hot shoe, and allow more flash flexibility. Makes a great combination with my Sunpak PZ42XC. With the flash bracket, I can turn the flash completely around, and bounce from anywhere. Fires every time. Worth the money!

I have read that this product breaks very easily, but I haven't had any problems yet. It seems pretty sturdy with my 580EXII attached. So far, so good.

It worked perfectly at first. I used it to place my flash off camera to an L bracket. After several uses I was photographing my new granddaughter when the plastic shoe that mounts it to the L bracket broke. I am a long time Canon customer going back to when my Canon A-1 was new. Until now a Canon product never failed me. The 40 year old A1 works perfectly. This product used with my XSI does not measure up to what I thought were Canon's quality standards.

I own a few of these cords, all mounted on my "CB Folding-T" brackets. After reading all of the negative, least helpful reviews first before I purchased them (as I always do), and if you have done the same then you need to read the following: after I received my OC-E3 cords, I came up with a quick fix to help the durability. Before mounting a flash on it or attaching it to a flip-bracket, remove the four small screws from the flash side & split it in half. Line the outer edge of one of the halves with a small bead of strong glue or epoxy (I used Gorilla Glue) & re-attached & screw the two halves back together. I have had NO PROBLEMS at all. I use these cords with 580EX II's, & 480EX II's and they handle the weight just fine! They are very reliable, & function just fine with my 5D MkII's, 50D, & 30D. I wanted to stick with the CANON brand for product compatibility & dependability when I bought these cords, & I am very happy with their performance! The OC-E3 is a great piece of equipment to compliment your Canon EOS cameras, just treat it gently (as you should all of your camera gear)& you won't be disappointed!

Nice for moving flash or transmiter away from camera. But it is not heavy duty. So be gentle.

I am on my third OC-E3 out of necessity. Anyone know of a better designed / better made product that does the same thing? I'll be the first in line. This OEM product is of no better quality than the cheap knock-offs that are 1/3 of the price - I expect better. My two previous cords have failed in the same way - the fine-threaded cap screws that connect the two pieces of cheap plastic containing the "guts" of the shoe (on the flash end) strip right out of the holes. I cross my fingers that when the next one fails, I am able to catch $400 worth of flash before it takes a nose-dose into the floor. This piece of equipment is most definitely -not- for professional use and is just not capable of supporting a large flash (i.e. 580ex) in anything but the vertical position in a stationary set-up - i.e. completely inadequate for "flip-flop" wedding-style or macro photography flash brackets. Bottom line - the design / construction is garbage and Canon should be ashamed to put it's name on it.

I've read about some problems with other "Generic" Flash Cords having problems with either getting stuck in the Hot Shoe of the Camera, or having "Sync" problems between the Camera and the Flash. I decided to go with the Canon brand cord, since both my Camera and Flash are made by Canon. I bought the cord to use with my Flash Bracket, and I've had no problems using it as such. Using this cord, works just as well as if the Flash was mounted on the Camera itself. I use a Canon XTi Camera, with ...
