I have a Canon DSLR so if I need to take time to set up a shot I am going to use that. This is the perfect camera to pull out and take quick brainless pictures. Only improvement would be a bigger screen.

Purchased this camera as a gift for the wife. So far it's been a great all around little camea. Very happy with the image quality, I think this little camera will get a lot more use than my Digital SLR. Small size, rugid design - I purchased a spare battery, and it's come in handy several times. For me battery life was about 120 photos when using flash and zoom. Great Camera

A really nice portable camera that takes high quality photos. The quality of the photos is far far better than those taken by Sony, Samsung or Olympus cameras. I took the pictures inside the cave and the pictures came sharp. It used to give me dark photos inside that cave with Sony and other cameras

Having owned many compact cameras and other Elphs, this is the best of the bunch. Super small, unobtrusive (in black) and I carry it everywhere since it fits in any pocket. Obviously it is not very good for anything that moves but for snapshots etc. it is great. Ok indoors without flash if stabilized on any object and use 2 second shutter trip. Picture quality is excellent for size of sensor. Bought one for wife and daughter, who used another brand, and they like this better for the reasons listed above.

I found that carrying my Canon EOS 5D everywhere was starting to weigh me down after a few hours. I needed a compact camera to slip in my shirt pocket for the more casual photo ops throughout the day. What a pleasant surprise the SD 780 has been! I find that it takes clean, sharp images that are easily workable in Photoshop. It's easy to use and has no lag time. I am very pleased with the results from this little "giant".
