I have been a fan of Canons advanced point and shoots for years and this is a strange bit of good and bad but I'm also glad it exists and even that I own it. The video works wonderfully in almost all regards and functions. The fam works wonders though still can't negate the battery life. The sensor size increase means it isn't pocketable anymore but the bitter issue is that canon small sensors just aren't as good as others and despite the size increase it isn't much better than the 1" Sony sensors of old. The good is that because it's a Canon sensor the autofocus actually works well in video. The photography side is not as great. The biggest issue is the lens that while relatively fast and sharp just doesn't have the reach that I wanted. I realize that it is for video and vloggers but 24mm is fine. I say that as someone that has used the G7xiii for that purpose and it works great. If you want to isolate a subject you really just can't with this. There is no zoom or portrait length and while I know some will argue 50 is a portrait length just remember you now have a smaller sensor so compensation isn't what you could do with the old 1". So why get this over the G7xiii. Well 4k video if you need it for longer recording sessions, especially if you can plug it in. A small footprint home studio video camera with goo tracking autofocus. I might also suggest this for some real estate agents on a budget that includes the lens. Still not a bad c camera that can work as an A camera but not nearly as versatile and feels lacking for a lot of jobs.

Bought this 2 months ago for my daughter and she absolutely loved it. She used it a lot and used it too when we went to italy. The only thing is she added a flash which is not a big deal. Picture perfect quality for us with or without a flash. Yes, I would recommend this product.

I honestly would not recommend buying this camera. I'm not able to use any flash on this camera because it doesn't come with it and the external flash that it requires is only sold by Cannon which they refuse to restock and it's been months since I've bought the camera. I'm very disappointed in the camera and in Cannon's customer service as I've called and they have been no help trying to get me this external flash that not only has gone up in price but will not restock. I spent $1000 on this camera all to not really be able to use it how it should be.

I love this camera!!! Takes awhile to figure out the settings if you choose to get a flash and hotshoe since the camera doesn't sync with the flash. Also the software updates are random and wiped my memory card the first time I had one, disappointing but most likely user error.

Beautiful camera.. $1000 for no flash is the only negative. You have to buy additional hot shoe and flash just to get those type of photos

The flash that comes with the bundle does not work with the camera without an adapter.

PowerShot V1, a powerful video-first camera with all the features you are looking for content creation, in an all-in-one design. This new sleek design features an ultra-wide-angle zoom lens, advanced autofocus, a built-in cooling fan, and impressive stabilization. The PowerShot V1 will let you focus on your creativity without worrying about time limits getting in the way of your videos.
Go wide for group shots or zoom in for tight close-ups with the built-in 16-50mm zoom lens (35mm equivalent) — no switching lenses.

The PowerShot V1's 1.4-type sensor makes your content look effortlessly professional, no extra effort required. Your videos will have sharp details, vibrant colors, and smooth tones, whether you're in a well-lit studio or in natural lighting.

Ever had your camera shut down mid-shoot because it got too hot? The PowerShot V1 solves that problem with a built-in cooling fan that keeps things running smoothly.

For those who love to tweak colors and perfect their footage in post, Canon Log 3 is a game-changer. With 10-bit color depth and a base ISO of 800, your footage is primed for cinematic color grading.

Blurry footage no more, Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF II has your back. This autofocus system is fast, intelligent, and precise, locking onto your subject in milliseconds.
With eye detection, the PowerShot V1 ensures that your face (or your subject's) stays in sharp focus, even if you're moving around the frame.
Shaky hands? Not today. The PowerShot V1’s triple-layer stabilization system ensures buttery smooth video.

Lens Optical IS corrects small hand movements, Movie Digital IS keeps things steady in motion, and Subject Tracking IS ensures your focus stays locked.
This mode in the PowerShot V1 automatically adjusts focus between your face and the object you’re holding, ensuring smooth, professional transitions.

Not every day is a good skin day, and that’s where Smooth Skin Movie Mode comes in. This setting softens skin tones naturally, giving you a polished look without making you look airbrushed or facetuned.

The PowerShot V1 plays well with accessories. Pair it with the HG-100TBR Bluetooth grip for better handling and remote operation or add the DM-E1D directional stereo microphone for crisp audio without extra cables.

Weighing just 0.94 lbs (15.0 oz) and measuring 4.7” x 2.7” x 2.1”, the PowerShot V1 is small enough to slip into your bag but powerful enough to replace bulkier setups.
If you’re a travel vlogger, live streamer, or someone who likes to shoot on location, this camera will go with you anywhere without weighing you down.
