It is good quality and performs as expected. It powers my Losmandy equatorial mount during my observing sessions when away from home. The only thing that should have been done is to change the recharging wall transformer to the case. It is vulnerable to getting lost.

I agree with the reviewer before me. I bought one many years ago and it died because of my neglect. I'll be using it in 2017 to drive three devices during the 21 August solar eclipse; one small telescope on an iOptron mount, an iOptron SkyTracker, and a SkyWatcher Star Adventurer Photo mount, using both lighter-plug sockets and one of the two USB ports. BTW, the first graphic that shows three holes [3/6/9 Volt] top front is the old version; the ones showing two USB ports is correct.

The current model Power Tank is better and more flexible than the original I purchased some 15 years ago. A huge improvement, in my opinion, is that power can be supplied by the Power Tank while charging, or in the off position while plugged in. I used the power tank as a backup power supply and it reliably supplied 12V to my radios while in the off position and plugged in.

not like the one I purchased 10 years ago. half the size. No longer has hand sized clips to clip on an auto battery. usb outlets are probably usefull to recharge cell phone. Small bulb did not work. I had to work quite a while to get it to contact both positive and negative contacts to get it to light. Obviously out sourced to overseas production facility.

The power tank has a lot of useful features and potential, but it fails to live up to its potential. After only a handful of charges the tank began dying and began to not hold a charge. Celestron customer support is horrible and they would do nothing about it. If you read the astronomy forums you will find a lot of complaints about these tanks for the same issue. If you need a power supply for your telescope you are much better off buying a battery booster/jumper at an auto parts store. Much cheaper too.

I purchased this power tank to use with my SCT telescope with goto motor. It comes with two power source plugs that accept a cigarette lighter adapter. And adapter is included with the unit that fits Celestron telescopes (it's stored in a compartment on the back side of the unit). It also has a regular flashlight as well as a red light, which is useful in astronomy. I've used this battery outdoors in cold weather observing for hours and never have run out of power. In fact, I go several sessions between charges. The tank is versatile and I've used it to power an air compressor to inflate my car's tires. Somebody said in another review that the tank wouldn't charge, it will, it's just that it takes awhile to fully charge. Given what this unit costs, it is an excellent value.

In my experience of owing three Power tanks I have found that they cannot be recharged!

It has enough voltages for all needs. 3Vcc, 6Vcc, 9Vcc, 12Vcc. I use it with my goto, my autoguide camera and I can turn on the flashlight to help me assembly the equipment, check animals or forgotten items after a session. The battery works all night. It is very practical. A great investment.

I purchased this in March 2008. Just recently the small flashlight stop working, push the button and nothing happens. Contacted Celestron, and of course they would not help since it was out of warranty by 5 months. Found out that when you push the button it engages a plastic gear, and two plastic "catches" engage the gear to rotate the metal contact for power. The two plastic catches broke off-and will never work. This is of poor engineering design, since this part is always used when activating the flashlight.

I have used this product mostly with my Meade and Vixen mounts. The light comes in handy when setting up and breaking down the equipment. Also great for security in checking around the observing site. I got the power tank in August 2003. It still works just fine.

Lousy quality. Lights did not work when I received the power supply. I elected to fix it myself rather than go through the time and expense of sending it back. Had to dismantle it, fix several bad connections, and re-assemble. Took me an hour. What junk!

The power tank has worked reliably and eliminated the need for replacable batteries for my telescope and accessories. The bright light has come in handy when being approached by wild animals in remote sites. The red light with the flash option has been useful to look for dropped parts or to let people know where I am. The charge holds up well and I have found it to be trouble free.
